The fact that I thought TS should be starting over AS at one point in time says it all :)

Now that changes if Flacco hits the market. He's not Brady/Brees/Manning/Rodgers but he is a proven franchise QB.

All of that being said, since there likely won't be a significant upgrade available, I'd rather see what Weeden looks like in this vertical system.
Im mentioning Tyler Bray again solely for the purpose of the told you so moment this time next year.

So you think Bray will be some teams starter in 2013?

Well do you have a link to back it up or not? Because it sounds like bullshit to me too.

Also sounds likes Percy Harvin is on his way out in Minny. Wonder if they can't trade him if they will cut him?

With the right coaching, yes. Not opening day, but by the end of 13.

I'm assuming he got it from the OBR.

As far as Harvin goes, I know you're not suggesting it, but NO WAY in Hell I take a flyer on that guy. Super talented but dude is an extreme locker room cancer. He might behave until he gets paid but then all Hell breaks loose.

Also misses games due to migranes.

Which I'm wondering if that might be part of the reason for his 'explosive" nature (the migranes)?

"To avoid that from happening, the Ravens could name Flacco an exclusive rights free agent, which would put him over $20 million a season in salary. If the Ravens chose to do so to make sure they didn’t lose him they would have big money tied up at one position and that would hurt the Ravens going forward as they couldn’t keep some of their other players by choosing to keep Flacco."

They will have to choose. The rumor enough should force the Ravens to pay him huge and lose alot of other pieces.

So the choice could be:
Balt: 6 years $111
Clev: 5 years $110

I'd say the choice would be:

Balt: chance to win another ring
Cleve: chance to MAYBE make the playoffs

Not really as easy as that. Of the contracts he mentioned, the Browns would probably be significantly more lucrative in that the first few years would be guaranteed with larger bonuses/incentives. He'd have a chance of seeing A LOT more money with the Browns deal than with the Rats should his performance start to slip in year 3 Batimore decides to cut him.

I would love to have flacco. He would fit chuds offense to a T. He might not be Tom Brady or Rodgers but he is still very good.

It's a win/win. Get Flaco or drive the price up so high, that is all they have.

Exactly. If he somehow gets tagged, throw a huge offer out there crippling their franchise OR you get your QB.

We get the QB, BUT we still lose 2 first round picks. It's not like this team was one player away from a SB.

but still every team needs a franchise QB and he is now a franchise QB. A QB like that can hide a lot of problems with your team.

I understand what you're saying, but I disagree. Our team has the talent to make the playoffs IMO. I think with a legit coach, aka one with his head not up his own ass, we could have made the playoffs. Hell I can point to many times in the first 5 games where if Patty wasn't a fucking idiot we would have won a game.

Also a legit OC opening up the offense, I expect our offense to be much improved. QB makes or breaks a team, Wilson, RG3, and Indy last season are all examples of this. Flacco as our QB, we're a playoff team IMO.

Also we trade 2 1st for Flacco, what do you think the Ratbirds will use their picks on? Finding a new QB. I would do the deal, 2 1st every time for flacco, and I probably like Weeden the most on this board (and by like I think he can be a decent QB and isn't trash but not anything amazing).

Precisely. Not that Joe Flacco is Peyton Manning but Manning (franchise QB, as is Flacco) covers a lot of "blemishes" on his team (see shitty defense with the Colts, for the most part).

I really couldn't give a "rats" about two 1st round draft picks if they can get someone like Flacco. Besides, Lombardi will probably convince Banner that Joe Blow from the Tuscaloosa Institute of Finger Painting is worth burning one of those first rounders on.

If they don't see Weeden as their guy and can get a significant upgrade, in the form of Flacco, you pull the trigger.

Agree with this 1000%. And to think, I was supposedly the top Weeden nuthugger. :)

When I want a good laugh I click onto this thread to see how browns fans have "fixed" their team.

You really think that Flacco would go to Cleveland? Or drive the price up so high that is all the ravens have left? Um, you do realize that if you do drive the price up, offer him a shittone of money and he accepts then YOU guys will only have $$ for the QB and not much else.

Browns fans give me a huge laugh. Thanks!
