Well...this is interesting and the first I've heard of it. Sounds like Billy Winn is in the process of "transforming" his body for the pending switch to the 3-4. He could see time at OLB? Horton likes Sheard as an OLB also (nothing earth shattering there). Sounds like Lombardi is warming up to Josh Gordon too.
Off topic but for those who want to rip on Grossi....I'm not a fan of his writing, per se, but you can thank your lucky stars he's in Cleveland. Grossi was instrumental, again, in blocking Art Modell from making the HOF. Modell was possibly going to get in on "sentimental" vote before Grossi brought the voters back to reality.

Oh, he sucks but he's probably the most passionate journalist in Cleveland about keeping the snake out of the HOF.like_that;1384430 wrote:I read that, and I gave him his props for it. He is still a dipshit.

I won't disagree with you there.BR1986FB;1384432 wrote:Oh, he sucks but he's probably the most passionate journalist in Cleveland about keeping the snake out of the HOF.
Also, I just can not see Winn playing as a lber. This is why going to the 3-4 is just fucking stupid. I see this defense taking a couple steps back now, which is fucking annoying considering they were building pieces into the right direction.

They've tried that "experiment" with Kennard Lang years ago and, as you guys would say, "fail." Sheard might be able to pull it off but I don't see Winn doing it. Sure, they might be able to get to the QB but how's those coverage skills?like_that;1384434 wrote:I won't disagree with you there.

New regime gotta put their "stamp" on everything to show how smart they are. I do think the 3-4 can work under Horton though.

For those without ESPN Insider Kiper/McShay released a new mock draft today.
Kiper has us taking Werner and McShay has us selecting Mingo.

Not that it is a TOP concern, but is there any word about bringing a new punter in for competition? Hodges sucks ass.

Everything I've read points to a 6th round selection of a punter. Kid out of Ok St. looks good. There's two or three with potential. Hodges is likely done in Clevelandlike_that;1384741 wrote:Not that it is a TOP concern, but is there any word about bringing a new punter in for competition? Hodges sucks ass.

It's too bad we don't have picks stocked like last year. Brad Wing would be nice, but he'll probably go way earlier than the Browns can afford to take a punter.

No need to ever draft a punter, you gotta be fucking kidding me. There has to be some guy out there that has been working hard to make an NFL team.

Quinn Sharp is the guy I mentioned. He is a kicker amd punter. His punts average 5 second hang times and 70% of his kickoffs go for touchbacks.

Sorry you feel that way. AJ Trepasso works at a local bar near where I live. Remember him? Ohio State punter, hit the scoreboard in Dallas during a preseason game, ended up getting cut and starting a camp for young punters. I'll have him call you.like_that;1384759 wrote:No need to ever draft a punter, you gotta be fucking kidding me. There has to be some guy out there that has been working hard to make an NFL team.

That's my point. There are plenty of guys out there working hard to make it in the NFL. I bet if AJ is still punting, he could potentially get a try out.CLEconomically Speaking;1384761 wrote:Sorry you feel that way. AJ Trepasso works at a local bar near where I live. Remember him? Exactly. Can't hurt to bring a couple guys in for some competition. If Hogdes improves and wins the competition, then so be it, if not we have a new punter. Can't remember a time anyone has QQ'd over losing a punter.Commander of Awesome;1384838 wrote:Hodges wasn't the same. End of discussion. He sucked.

When we lost Cardocki, ppl QQ'd. Also I QQ'd every time I had to watch Frost shank punts for 7 yds. Bring in Scott Player. Single bar facemask like a boss.like_that;1384982 wrote:Exactly. I didn't. I was happy we didn't have to hear every commentator talk about how he holds the record for most punts without a block.Commander of Awesome;1384984 wrote:When we lost Cardocki, ppl QQ'd. Is this a serious post? Yeah we "remember him" is that supposed to mean we should have drafted him because we now remember him? Because he hit the scoreboard in Dallas during fuck around time (what preseason football is to punters), we should have drafted him? You're going to have AJ Trepasso call a guy on the message board because he said he doesn't believe punters should be drafted? LMAOCLEconomically Speaking;1384761 wrote:Sorry you feel that way. Seriously though..don't draft a fucking punter. Just get 2 maybe 3 in to tryout, pick the best 1 and move on. Would have been hilarious if Billichek took a punter instead of Brady.

Youre dumb. That was clearly sarcasm. I disagreed with like_that's opinion on finding any old punter. If that is the plan, just stick with Hodges because there is a reason these guys aren't on a team currently. I would absolutely draft punter with our last pick if Sharp or Wing are still available. Just my opinion, feel free to disagree with it but make sure you type /sarcasm after your anecdote or somebody'll get confusedSportsAndLady;1385002 wrote:Is this a serious post?
