MAC schools now 0-2 to start the bowl season......why?

Does any MAC school have a shot at winning a bowl game this year?

If NIU can somehow manage to defeat FSU, nobody will care how the rest of the MAC does ;)

Dolts can mock all you want, but this is one of, if not the best seasons the MAC has ever had. It doesnt take a genius to realize they lost to two pretty good non-AQ teams.

the MAC will end up with a better bowl record than the B1G this year. book it.

Keep in mind there are plenty of years where the B1G has great regular seasons and then gets plowed in December and January simply based on the matchups, but that's obviously different.

There is a great level of parity, but the overall level of play isn't much better than usual.

multiple teams ranked, as many as 4 teams receiving votes at once, 7 bowl bids (only 3 guaranteed), and OOC wins over PSU, as well as undefeated and ranked Cinci and Rutgers at the time isnt better than usual?

This should be followed by some sort of retort but honestly...it's not worthy of the effort required, sorry.

It's a mix of the MAC being a little better than usual, with a combination of a lot of BCS teams/conferences being down the same year. But it is what it is, and considering how the MAC has been up to this point it is a hell of an improvement, regardless of what people who only watch B1G games say.

Agreed.

I've followed the Buckeyes since 1967 and have always rooted for the Big 10 in their bowl games, but it never ceases to amaze me the unfounded arrogance of some Big 10 fans.

Granted comparing the MAC to the Big 10 is like comparing the Big 10 to the SEC but - you know - even blind squirrels find acorns once in a while. ;)

I am of the opinion that the MAC, Sun Belt, WAC, MWC, Big Least/CUSA should be it's own sub-division and have a 32 team playoff.

This is not to demean those conference (OK just the old CUSA now Big Least), I watch the MAC alot, but if this was a semi-final game tonight, the interest would be much higher and the game would mean more.

I agree with you, and think something like this will happen in the future.

I would agree. These conference are too good to be 1-AA (or FCS) but will never be good enough (as conferences) to seriously compete at full Division 1 FBS level.

^ I have a problem with no stipend, but I guess if FCS athletes are able to make it without, I guess mid majors could be able to.

FCS is 20
D2 is 24 (should be 32)
D3 is 32

At least 16 team, more like 24 based upon the above.
