I thought last night was a pretty standard performance for a Brian Kelly team in a BCS bowl

Ugly ugly game. This one will hurt for a long time. Golson looked pretty good in the 2nd half and Daniels looks like a true number 1. The future is definitely bright. I do like how we are getting more athletic at lb and safety in recruiting and should help when playing these type of games. Either way it was a great unexpected season

Pretty much sums up my feelings as well.

I am hardly a Brian Kelly fan, but for what it's worth he didn't coach Cincy's last loss to Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

I think Notre Dame was uninterested in this game. It was just an exhibition. They went through the full regular season undefeated and ended up top ranked. This game was just a money grab for college football and espn.

The Irish players were obviously pre-occupied with missing classes and how they would make it all up.

I don't like it either but it is what it is. If it was as simple as you make it sound it would have happened at some point in the last 6 or 7 years.
Havent seen this kind of dominance by a conference. On a much smaller scale though the MAC in West Central Ohio has won state football titles 16 of the last 19 years, including 9 of the last ten and winning two football titles in the same season in 4 of the last 8 years..but I digress.

ND benefitted from an easy schedule and a gimmie call against Pitt. Without that PI call they do not go undefeated. I think if OSU played Ala the outcome would have been pretty close to the same.

Of course...we need a playoff. Oregon and Alabama could have been a very good game.

Well he did bring up dominance by a conference and that was the only thing I could think of that came close!

I really thought ND had a chance to win last night. If I was a betting man I woulda guarenteed they would cover the spread but Alabama was just too good. They came out and gashed the defense like you just shouldnt see in a NC game. They were just that much better. The SEC has the top teams, no doubt about it, and until someone beats them, consistantly, then you will just see them continue to dominate. They may not win it every year, but just like the MAC in football it is a safe bet to think they will at least have a team in the finals almost every year.

Alabama showed that there still is a place in college football for the pro style of offense. Powerful line, no gimmicks, no frills, just hard nosed this-is-what-we-are-gonna-do-and-you-gotta-stop-it type of offense. There is something to be said about that style of offense. When you can impose your will on a team, like the power teams of Alabama, there isnt a whole lot you can do!

Well I dont think you are dumb enough to think OSU would have made it a much closer game.

Or maybe you are, hell I dont know.

I don't think OSU would've faired much better. OSU has more defensive speed than ND, but the OSU tackling was not very good this year.

As for the game, ND's poor tackling is why the game was so bad. Seemed the first guy could never stop Lacy or Yelden. Yelden is going to be a beast. Teo disappointed me.
