I understand that the emphasis on a returner becomes more and more important. But there have always been great return men, and I just don't see why anyone would think that is Ray Small.

To back up your point, Ted Ginn was taken at number 9 and was basically a kick returner who played some WR. Same can be said with the play of Hestor. I just think all of those guys accomplished so much more.

But like I said, because there is a growing emphasis on return specialist, Small will get a shot. I just don't know how much value he has in terms of a returner, but also at playing other positions.

Harvin plays WR and RB for the Vikings.

Cribbs plays on all coverage units and is usually the leading tackler. Plus he can play some wildcat.

Hestor attempts playing WR (and is probably the Bears #1 without looking up the stats).

Ginn plays WR.

I just don't think Small can play on any coverage units and isn't a good enough WR to get time in the NFL. I think his value is limited. And that's mentioning the off the field problems.

But hey, I may end up being wrong.

I think, sadly, that someone will give him a shot. I don't really care one way or the other, just glad he's done at OSU.
