What I've heard from a buddy at Norwayne whos son plays on the team is that Harris is STILL playing at Weak Safety! That's being said he was recruited from the bearcats as an OLB.

He is playing LB...He isn't playing LB...He is playing LB...He isn't playing LB.....oh the perils of discussing the Norwayne defense a month before the season.

My guess is he winds up playing more O than D this year....he is the most feared deep ball threat in the area.

Any news on Chippewa?, Dalton?, Smithville?, etc.

I can understand moving him to linebacker if that's what he's getting recruited for. He's not fast enough to play db in college. Hopefully his shoulder is ok. Would hate to see him lose a scholarship for a preseason injury.

I can't see him playing LB at the college level...Cincy must have recruited him as a WR...right?

Let's face it, no matter what position Cincy recruited Harris at, he's not a D1 linebacker. I do think he will make a good WR though. He has the attributes that D1 schools are looking for. He has a great mixture of size and speed.....amongst other things. Everyone around Norwayne knows he's not a hitter. He's a finesse player. I agree with some others on here. Put him back at safety. Let him use that size and speed to intercept balls and wreak some havoc back there. Find someone else to do the tackling. If he's nursing a bad shoulder the coaches are crazy for putting him in the line of fire. It's only going to make him more timid. Please, do not play him at corner. We've ll seen what happens when they do that.

IMO Norwayne will still score a bunch but they will be scored upon. Last years defense was unbelieveable and they lost a bunch of great athletes. I hope some of these young boys come along quickly.

I agree, with the skilled players that are returning, scoring won't be an issue. The question is whether the holes can be filled on the defensive side of the ball.

yeah, I noticed that. It seems more common these days for kids to commit, decommit, and recommit verbally.

Hope he finds the best fit for himself.

He had a good offer from BG, decided he wanted to be a little closer to home. As long as he's happy and its a good fit, good for him.

Just read in the paper that Dennis from Rittman verbally commited to Akron. Wow I guess it was all true.

Wow... good for him, I guess. That makes 4 D1 scholarships on the field this fall. That's pretty exciting anyways. The league is finally getting some of the attention it has deserved all along.

It sounds like the offer came after being seen in camps. Have they watched him on the field at all??? We now know why the Akron Zips are aweful. WOW!...and Berger is a WALK ON??? What a joke!

D I recruiting is a mystery sometimes because they look at potential and production. The guy on a team that has a losing record but is the size and speed they are looking for gets the scolly. Most coaches have the confidence in themselves that they can turn players into stars, but it doesn't always turn out that way. Haven't seen the young man play, but good luck.

After everything I've heard about Bill Dennis, I wont believe that commit until I see him in an Akron uniform. If that kids a D1 player half the kids in the WCAL will be playing D1 in the next 2 years. Take a look at the highlight video when you get a chance....haha

According to Dennis' twitter account, he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash yesterday. Faster than Harris' 4.39! lol

Also, Zips taking a beating on the message boards...

I saw the highlight tape.... Akron must plan on throwing a bunch of 3 yard out patterns and stop patterns then running out of bounds or get tackled right away. There are kids that put up his season stats in a single game! He had 221 yards and 5 TD's on the season....

You may be right, I haven't seen him play. I just thought you were a little harsh on him. It happens in all sports where I look at someone and think no way they're going to play.

Its insanely ridiculous that arguably the best player in wcal history has to walk on to akron.... And Dennis gets an offer before his senior season...

On that note.... A source said that the Bobcats have some "secret weapons" outside of Beery and Harris at WR.... Does anyone know who they might be? That's an interesting thing to hear in a probable pass first offense this year....
