I disagree. "Work hard" posted in the weight room is different than "Avoid drugs and guns and stealing". That those things are common enough to warrant reminder on a wall that in times past may have had the simple "pride" and "hard work" plattitudes is very telling of where college sports are.

ESPN article says there's surveillance video that is "contrary to what's being reported", for whatever that's worth.

Ok so right now Hyde is suspended from all football activities, while the the investigation is being done. It looks good for Hyde as the video is showing a completely different story then what is being reported. But who knows really.

Roby will not be at Big Ten media day and will likely see a couple game suspension.

Marcus Baugh will be suspended for the Buffalo game after his incident last week.

Tim Gardner is off the 2013 team. His situation will be look at once the season is over, if he will be invited back.

I tend to agree with vdubb here, and that's about the only way I'll be cool with him being reinstated.

Breaking news.....Meyer called Hyde and said his punishment is to sit one half vs Florida A&M. Hyde replied that he will take himself out for the whole game. ;)

Wouldnt surprise me. Thats what he did with Brandon Spikes a few years ago for trying to rip someones eyes out.

You're a Wolverine/NASCAR fan too. That's the worst kind of fan. Next to ND fans, of course.

On the thread I read, most of them didn't act like it was a big deal when the rumor came out. Surprisingly only a few made it out to be something serious and/or blaming Meyer.

We all can't wait for that post...
You'll not find any mention by me about how the problems in college football area microcosm of society. My point was that a wall message about not stealing or doing drugs is very telling about the types of characters that play big time college football. That they need an overt reminder not commit felonies is pretty sad if you ask me.

The only difference between now and 50 years ago is now people, and subsequently teams, actually get in trouble and get punished for drugs and other things. Years ago (read: back in your day) these things were ignored or swept under the rug. The players did just as many stupid things years ago as they do now, but now there are actually consequences. The only thing it says about the state of football now is they no longer let people get away with things like the used to. Also, with things like twitter you hear about everything which would also not have been the case long ago.

Instant media hyper-changed the level of scrutiny these guys are under. I personally witnessed Nick Buonamici beat the livin shite out of a guy that was messing with his bike in front of the Oar House back in '76 on a Thursday and he started the game on Saturday. And that's ok...but if someone is punching women they need to be removed from the team.

What is the latest on Hyde? I was hearing they may have video that clears him, and surprised not to see any discussion of such here today.

That's because it was discussed yesterday.
