It seems he's has been doing more of this the last couple of games, and the players are responding. A good coach needs to know which buttons to push and when, and maybe Coach Matta has figured out the formula with this team. I sure hope so.Midstate01;1398281 wrote:How could you not see it. I don't know, he was pretty pissed off when he took that timeout at the beginning of the second half against MSU, but I get your point.Prescott;1398540 wrote:Ihave never seen Matta as angry and animated as he was last night with Ravenal.

I read that last night. Good read.
You're right....so correct. He's the guy you hated to play and/or practice against. Nonstop motor and scrappy, pisses you off bad.
Btw, the UM student they talk to sounds like a tool.

Great article. Would definitely rather have Craft than not have him, unless he is throwing up 15 shots in a game that is.vball10set;1402354 wrote:Lengthy, but spot on

In semi-related news. Just worked the Anthony Wayne -Perrysburg game (UofM Recruit Mark Donnal had 20 pts on 8/14 shooting and about 10 reb.). But it was at Liberty-Benton, Aaron Crafts HS. I looked at their wall of fame. I knew he was all-Ohio in foootball twice, but didnt realize once was as a DB and also all-ohio basketball 3 times.

Quiet crowd today due to Spring Break, and we all know from the way seating was when they opened that place that old people behind the benches makes it like playing in a morgue there.
Dakich was even saying the old people are too damn quiet.

I like what Thomas has done with his passing today so far. The Shannon Scott interception behind the back pass to Craft for the overhead no look pass to Thomas was a damn fun play to watch.
Good thing we're getting favorable calls today as the first half we played pretty sloppy for a lot of it.

I called a game for WFOB back around 2007 or 2008 when Craft was at L-B -- I think that was the only game I ever saw the kid play in hs -- and he was probably the second quickest defensive player I've ever seen at that level. The first was hands down Jeremiah Diebler of Gibsonburg. Watching Jeremiah play was like looking up at the sky and staring at lighting.Laley23;1402390 wrote:In semi-related news. Craft is an incredible athlete. It's too bad he can't shoot. If he could, he'd be a first-team All-American.

Amir Williams deserves zero minutes at this point. He hasn't shown any improvement.

Does anyone in CBB miss more layups than Lenzelle Smith?

That should not have been an intentional foul on Rav.

OSU locks up the 2 seed in the Big 10 tournament with this win. Great coaching job by Thad Matta to get this team where they are in the nations best conference.

If Ohio State wins the Big Ten Tournament and beats Indiana for a second time along the way, they are for sure a two seed but not sure if they could jump to the one line or not. It would take early Big East exits from both Louisville and Georgetown (prior to the semis). If gonzaga loses on Monday night to Saint Mary's (and that is a distinct possibility) that also opens up another one seed. The Zags will slip to a two seed IMO with a loss. The only reason they are even on the top line right now is because they simply haven't lost.
It's not unheard of for a team with six or seven losses to earn a number one, and especially not this year.

B1G guy and speaks his mind. Obviously he's partial to Indiana, as are most guys who play and coach for a team.vball10set;1403454 wrote:Agreed, B1G COTY imo.

I played pick up basketball all the time as a kid with the dieblers. Jeremiah was a pain in the ass to play against lol. Probably the fastest basketball player I've played against. We always made the diebler brothers be on different teams because it just wasn't fair lol when I still lived in Ohio I would see him at the Fremont rec center every once in a while

I just can't stand how Dakich doesn't recognize fouls vs non-fouls. I don't know if he don't watch the replays or what. There is no way that intentional foul on Ravenel today was an intentional foul. He may have even got a little bit of ball, but Dakich acted like it was a great call.vball10set;1403454 wrote:Agreed, B1G COTY imo.
