Good luck to DT. Along with William Buford and Mo Peterson (going way back), one of my favoirte non-Hoosiers to watch play basketball in the B1G

In the "cool story bro" category, my cousin was playing bball at the RPAC last week, and he said on the court right next to them were Amadeo Della Valle working out with Chris Jent, and on the other half of the court were Dave Dickerson and Sammy Thompson. He said he didn't realize Amadeo was that tall (he guessed about 6'5"?), and that Sammy was just drilling shot after shot.

Yea Amadeo has good size. Will be good to see his progression for next season. Sam has a perfect stroke. I think hes set to have a monster year. Good to hear they wasted no time getting back in the gym.

I really hope Della Valle turns into the outside force that we desperately need. I don't know much about his skill set other than having a sweet stroke.

Why the limited PT last year? No defense? Or just stock behind others?

Tough to get minutes as a freshman on a top 10 team unless you are a real stud, McD AA type. Not to bring up IU all the time, but just look at their freshman. A top 3 class and only Yogi (McD AA) got significant minutes.

I heard from a tsun fan (usually pretty reliable) that Beilein had the option to offer either Amadeo or Spike a scholly, and he obviously chose the latter. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Maybe WebFire knows something regarding this??

Defense I'm guessing. He'll be a fun player to watch in a year or 2 I think. Seems like a lights out 3 point shooter.

Shannon Scott better have been there next spending 2 hours on shooting and another 2 hours working on finishing in the lane.

I don't follow the basketball recruiting as much as football. Not enough to know who and who wasn't offered.

I love Bill Self's philosophy on this...he gives his freshman a few minutes in most games. He doesn't do it for the actual game itself, but so they get game experience and not just rot on the bench for a full year.

For example, with the Morrii twins and Thomas Robinson in the front court, Jeff Withey still got PT his freshman year. He was absolutely horrible and I remember posting on here that he is the worst player I've ever seen at Kansas; but it seemed to work out.

He did it this year with Traylor. He'll end up being a beast in a year or two.

lol, yeah. I remember a year or two ago, you hated Withey and thought he was this worthless uncoordinated waste of space. Things changed as far as that was concerned.

Talk of Della Valle made me think of Diebler.

Checked up on him, currently playing for Pina Karsiyaka in the Turkish league. I wonder what that gig pays?

I didn't either. Kind of shocked me because he seemed like more of a throw in guy because of his shooting ability. Love his energy and effort though. Think he will be a good player his junior and senior years and he loves being a Buckeye.

I looked it up about a month ago. His contract was 1yr/150K. Not bad money for playing a game you love.

Ohio State basketball recruit Marc Loving was recently named a Parade All-American. The Toledo native received the honor of being named Mr. Basketball this past season.
He averaged 21.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. Loving is the all-time leading scorer at St. John’s High School, scoring more than 1,600 points. He also corralled the most rebounds – 711. Loving once scored 42 points in a game.
He committed to Ohio State shortly after his freshman season and has twice been named the Division 1 player of the year. With the absence of Deshaun Thomas, Loving could see immediate playing time in Columbus.
