A family friend from Toledo, Sam Botek, Jr., was a member of the freshman class (that was given permission to play by the NCAA) the year following this tragedy. His name was even featured in the movie on the depth chart used by Matthew McConaughy. That was a sad, sad day in college football history.

Ever fly into Huntington Tri-State Airport? One of the most dangerous airports for pilots in the midwest. Airport sits among large hills that surround that landing strip making it extra difficult for pilots to land. Like trying to land a plane in a huge bowl.

^^^ I've done it about a couple dozen of times. Terrible airport. Charleston isn't much better.
