They all stink regarding it now, the other 2 places may have more posts but there's nothing much there in terms of useful content.

Region 11 is one of the few regions people will talk some about on here, though.

I can tell by all the Dover threads this year how relevant this forum is.

Two high scoring teams, but in different ways. Defense wins championships, but Saturday night might prove to be different! LOL

He was running on the sidelines while the game was drawing to a close so hopefully it was nothing serious.

I do not think this game can be at Fawcett, since the D3 championship game is there.

It is there, per OHSAA release. They don't really worry about teams playing at the championship site anymore like they used to.

Glad it's at Fawcett and not New Philly so you can park close and get good seats.

There was no way they would have put it there. Canton and Massillon were really the only possibilities. Even Wooster (HS or COW), who never hosts games, would have made more sense than New Phila.

Odd that we're in round 3, and among PBTS & Fawcett, this will be be the first game either site has hosted.

Guessing the Massillon folks are telling the OHSAA to not consider them for hosting a Saturday game so long as the Tigers are still alive.

That has been the rumor. Don't know how true it is, but if they are putting this game at Fawcett(even though the D3 title game is there) over a vacant Massillon, there must be some legs to it.

Most schools refuse to host a game at the same time that there team is playing. How would they get ANYBODY to run the stadium if everyone wanted to attend the Massillon game in Mansfield?

If Canton McKinley were alive, they wouldn't be hosting on Saturday night either (remember, Fawcett didn't host any games last Saturday either, otherwise West Holmes-Steubenville or Poland-Dover would've probably have been there.

Because they beat the juggernaut that is IC and a shell of a team in Big Red?

WH beat Ashland in week 5....41-36
Ashland beat Dover in week 2...31-14

Ashland is the only common opponent among the 2 schools.

Both have quality wins on their schedule. Going to come down to the team that can get stops on defense, and not kill themselves with turnovers/penalties.

Quick strike vs ground & pound. I've said 1 dimensional offenses can't win in November, unless that 1 dimensional is executed near perfectly. I think both teams do that.

West Holmes can strike surprisingly quickly in their "ground & pound" offense. I've said that since week 1 when they beat us, that even though they run the ball, they can run the 2-minute drill through it with success, especially with the chunks of yardage they get, and with their big play ability.

Both teams can certainly bust the big play, but good defense will stop that. I'm inclined to think the team that takes care of the ball wins this one - turnovers will kill either of these teams chances.

Dover is anything but one dimensional this year. Yes, we have our usual quick strike passing game, but we've also put up nearly as many yards running the ball as passing. And who do you think leads the team in TDs - Farmer, and he gets his yards ten feet at a time. If that ain't "three yards and a cloud of dust" then I've never seen it!

I'm really pleased to see West Holmes get this far - they certainly earned it this year. Dover has shown they can get enough good stops to quell a rushing attack. Once our D gets up to speed(and that's gonna' have to be quickly this week) I believe we can handle what WH offers. I think a good passing attack worries our D more that the run.
