USC is key in all this but LSU plays gangbusters at home and beats Bama by 3.

USC at home outscores Oregon (looking to be the problem with all this)...then beat ND at home.

K State gets knocked off

It won't happen.

Even if everything you said happens, it won't happen again.

Georgia is in great shape, IMO. They should win out. Depending how the other chips fall, they will likely get a shot at the BCS Title Game in the SEC Championship Game.

Obviously, K-State, Notre Dame and Oregon play a big role in this as well. However, in-theory, there are only 8 teams who are eligible for the national title game.

Alabama
Oregon
Kansas State
Notre Dame
LSU
Georgia
Florida
Florida State

All varying odds obviously.

I don't think Florida State has any chance at all. They will be the last ranked 1 loss team (that isn't Big East, MAC, etc)

Bama isn't going to lose to LSU anyway, so it's moot.

Edit: TD Bama as I type.

Obviously the odds for the bottom 2 are probably 1% or less. But they still have chances, in the craziest scenario. No other team has ANY chance, 0%.

LSU is gone after tonight.
FSU/FLA play each other, so they are gone.
ALA/UGA play each other, so one of them is gone.

Now that we have a playoff coming, I'd actually like to see a clear cut top 2 playing for the title. Even if it's not an SEC team. Kansas State vs Oregon would be a fantastic game.

Not sure Alabama winning say 24-6 at LSU then losing a tight one to Georgia would knock them out.

They would probably be the top 1-loss team, but would also be coming off a loss to Georgia, who would also be 12-1. That would hurt them.

Kansas State and Oregon are legit though, and would run the table in the 2nd and 3rd best conference this year. No way a 1-loss team, regardless of whether that's a 1-loss SEC winner, gets in over them.

LSU has 2 losses. There is literally a 0% chance of this happening.

Unless that was in regards to Azu's post. Too many beers to figure it out.

An Alabama/Florida game would NOT be that bad.

First off, the teams did not play this year. It wouldn't be a rematch like many didn't want to see last year. It would also have some intrigue...as it would be a battle for the first program to win 3 BCS Titles.

That would be an awful game because Florida is garbage. I honestly don't think they're even a top 10 team.

Florida should not even be ranked. Kent State would kick their arse.

I have to keep reminding those here, Florida has 3 wins over top 10 teams this year. Nobody else does. If they beat Felony St next week it'll be 4. Their defense makes them a top 10 team. Next week will be difficult to win, I admit. We'll know Sat.

That might be the biggest WTF? Game in years. I'd think Kent State would be at least a 17 point favorite if they played today.

I agree. I've brought it up every week. Kent State keeps rolling...and might go 13-1. Kentucky continues to get clobbered...fires their coach...and might go 2-10. It's crazy.
