Hes said publicly he has absolutely zero desire to coach again. He even said he would look foolish trying simply because of the attitudes and apathy of this generation of kids.BigDean1;1493594 wrote:By midseason, if not sooner, an old rumor about a former very successful Campbell head football coach that has been circulating for a couple of years will resurface. One of his former assistants has passed away. His former defensive coordinator has some real health issues. Regardless, there are men who could fill those two voids who would relish the opportunity to get this program back on track. That being said, things in Campbell have changed a great deal since those days of Campbell producing a powerhouse team year after year. So if this rumor ever comes to fruition it will be interesting to see how the kids respond. This former coach was very demanding of his players in the weight room and during the season. But he sure did get the results. Campbell has had some marginal success since 2009. But the program has not acheived anything more than a couple of conference championships and two playoff berths, losing in the first and second round. For those of us who really follow Campbell football, that is not enough. There are hundreds of people hoping that this person would come back to coach at Campbell. If he does, it may be his greatest challenge yet. I feel the city of Campbell has changed quite a bit over the past two decades. The kids are different. Would they respond or walk away from such a demanding coaching staff?
The era of tough Campbell football is gone.
This is the era of selfishness.
Remember, you cant spell Memorial without ME.
Theres just too many kids that dont care and they hghly outnumber the ones that do.
Its really sad.
