BigDean1;1493594 wrote:By midseason, if not sooner, an old rumor about a former very successful Campbell head football coach that has been circulating for a couple of years will resurface. One of his former assistants has passed away. His former defensive coordinator has some real health issues. Regardless, there are men who could fill those two voids who would relish the opportunity to get this program back on track. That being said, things in Campbell have changed a great deal since those days of Campbell producing a powerhouse team year after year. So if this rumor ever comes to fruition it will be interesting to see how the kids respond. This former coach was very demanding of his players in the weight room and during the season. But he sure did get the results. Campbell has had some marginal success since 2009. But the program has not acheived anything more than a couple of conference championships and two playoff berths, losing in the first and second round. For those of us who really follow Campbell football, that is not enough. There are hundreds of people hoping that this person would come back to coach at Campbell. If he does, it may be his greatest challenge yet. I feel the city of Campbell has changed quite a bit over the past two decades. The kids are different. Would they respond or walk away from such a demanding coaching staff?
Hes said publicly he has absolutely zero desire to coach again. He even said he would look foolish trying simply because of the attitudes and apathy of this generation of kids.

The era of tough Campbell football is gone.

This is the era of selfishness.

Remember, you cant spell Memorial without ME.

Theres just too many kids that dont care and they hghly outnumber the ones that do.

Its really sad.

Question? Why has it been every off season these kids are working harder and getting stronger, but once season starts the kids are lazy and not dedicated? I have spoke to people on the staff they have had no behavior issues. It's actually been the opposite. The coaching sucks plain and simple. Stop blaming the kids. They need coached! Any dummy can tell you were blitzing every down lol. It's a joke. Publically rozum has said that not to offend sikora, but privately he has definitely considered it. If he wants this eighth grade class hell consider it. Hear Bryant said what wins has always won, but when it doesn't we make excuses. Stop making excuses for this staff

Helmets were popping off on both sides, there was nothing intentional about knocking hemets off lol but alright. It's not like it would of even mattered.
Struthers did win with class, they put their Jv's in the 3rd quarter. I think that enough, as another poster said is being classy.

Now it wasn't your whole team, it never is. Its always the 3 or 4 knuckleheads. Hows Elash doing? That running for his life caught up to the young man unfortunately.

And the coaching.. idk it just seems to me like Sikora doesnt care. Correct me if im wrong.

There were a few intentionally ripping off helmets but thats really neither here nor there at this point, and you are correct, it really had no bearing on the outcome. It was over pretty early. Hell I saw players with there heads down at 6-0!! Really?!

Elashs knee popped out and back in, doctor actually cleared him to return but the coaches decided not to risk it.

I still have faith in the staff, I just cant understand it.

If they would stop playing politics in hiring a head coach, former head principal telling the coaching selection committee who he wants, it would be a better environment. We have people being hired as head coach with friends on board of education. This garbage needs to stop! I'm glad that there is a new superintendent so that if they have to hire a new coach, that the process will be fair!

Organizational depth. Mooney staff wasn't going to lose sleep over him. They felt he'd be a jv player for a couple years. Some entitlement issues. Can I blame his mother though? No. You have to brave to sell your program and we all saw what sikora's selling

Campbell should beat range, they look very small and not athletic, can Campbell stop them from running the ball is key

Hopefully the loss to Struthers will serve as a "wake up" call for the Devils.

They have much work to do to prepare for South Range this weekend.

Hopefully they can turn things around and surprise the Raiders in their home opener.

Good luck to the Red Devils!

I hope the Campbell team comes into the game thinking that!!! If they think our Raiders are small and not very athletic than it should be a another victory for South Range. No, the Raiders aren't as big as they have been in some years, but I think they appear to be a little stronger with better team speed. The line play should once again determine the winner this Friday night.

South range gets a win over this Campbell team it will not be even close to an accomplishment lets just be serious, the last few years this game hasn't even been close Campbell's speed blew them away, I think they get loose again this week. Range might win might make the playoffs then get blown out first round.
