Happy family at a Chinese restaurant in Toledo. Their faces were priceless when I approached them in the parking lot and told them I was going to eat them.

In all seriousness, the Happy Family stir-fry dish from The Flower Drum, the best Chinese food in the city. It's one of those type of tired-looking places that appears unremarkable and uncared for in passing on the street, a place where you might be able to be hooked up with freebase, but inside features remarkable food, excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere.

Cheddar biscuits sound really good. I haven't had them in a long ass time.

Best food I had this weekend was some fried mushrooms from The Oak Tavern in Oakley on Friday night.

1) Aldi $1.29 eggplant sliced, peeled, lightly olive oiled with salt and pepper, and broasted in a home oven.

2) $2.50/lb Aldi very small diameter asparagus, rinsed, patted dry, and the lower 1/3 of the stalks cut off and discarded. Then drizzled with olive oil and separated into six parts. Each of the six groups then wrapped in a 22 cent 1/2 oz slice of Aldi prosciutto, and broasted in a home oven.

To add to the variety of snacks listed above, I would like to also mention the chocolate milkshake I had over the weekend at Walnut Creek Cheese in Holmes County. I've had ice cream there too many times to count over the years and it never disappoints. I overheard somebody say one time that it tastes so good because they use Amish milk, and you know what, I do not care what in the hell that means. If the milk comes from breasts then so be it.

I had prime rib at the Tavern at Findlay Inn on Saturday night. It was delicious. Cooked medium rare, some au jus, and horseradish! A side of a twice baked potato and lobster bisque. Good stuff.

I did have a little one-shot Ben and Jerry's frozen Greek yogurt, Banana Peanut Butter...terrific. Never tried one of those little guys before.

This is about what it looked like going into the oven, except with the smaller stalks there were 6-8 in each wrap, and my wraps were tapered up and down so that the asparagus was more covered in meat. Both this and the eggplant were great. Usually I do the eggplant on the grill, but since we were at my daughters, I tried the oven, starting it on low broil, then finishing it on bake at 375F.

See what you get into when your home Aldi is closed fro remodeling and you stop along the way in your travels when you find an Aldi and they have good deals on some prime ingredients!

Deep Fried Macaroni and Cheese and Bacon as well as my catfish tacos from this restaurant in Traverse City, MI called Soul Hole.

Either that or the pound of bacon I had from Tony's in Birch Run, MI. (If you've ever been, you know what I mean)

No it doesn't. It looks like a root wrapped in meat.

Just trying to help.

My "best food" was either chicken alfredo or Sparky's pizza.
