I'll be surprised if we ever hear definitively what happened.Automatik;1301563 wrote:Thanks, I'm anxious to hear what happened.

Jeff Svoboda ‏@JeffSvoboda Meyer says Braxton suffered some whiplash after being hit but was also very rattled because he'd never been hit like that before.

I'm curious about the trip to the hospital though. Trainers and doctors don't make that call for someone who's "very rattled".se-alum;1301608 wrote: Jeff Svoboda ‏@JeffSvoboda Meyer says Braxton suffered some whiplash after being hit but was also very rattled because he'd never been hit like that before.
The way he was gasping for air on the way to the locker room, 10-15 minutes or so after the play had ended, made me wonder if there was some sort of rib problem that affected the lungs? Hopefully not.

That's what my friends and I were wondering too, when he was being taken off the field and was on the sideline.jhay78;1301631 wrote:I'm curious about the trip to the hospital though. Trainers and doctors don't make that call for someone who's "very rattled".

And whiplash and rattled don't make you walk the way he was on the sideline. Very odd sequence of events. Like someone above said, we may never know the full story.jhay78;1301631 wrote:I'm curious about the trip to the hospital though. Maybe caused the wind to get knocked out of him also? I've seen guys have issues breathing and getting up after getting drilled in the chest/gut, but not long after the play like he was on the sidelines.WebFire;1301666 wrote:And whiplash and rattled don't make you walk the way he was on the sideline. I agree, it's odd. I'm just glad he's ok. I was fearing for the worst.

I don't like Braxton acting like denard for so long. He always was hurt and sitting out plays. Man up and get out there.

Agree. Whatever it is/was, it doesn't appear to be anything serious, which is most important.Automatik;1301711 wrote: I agree, it's odd. I'm just glad he's ok. I was fearing for the worst.

Doesn't appear that he has ANY injury. He is going to practice this week, and likely start on Saturday.jhay78;1301631 wrote:I'm curious about the trip to the hospital though. Trainers and doctors don't make that call for someone who's "very rattled".

If you get rattled, you get rattled. That's how it goes. I'm sure the coaches are the ones sitting him anyway.Midstate01;1301728 wrote:I don't like Braxton acting like denard for so long. He always was hurt and sitting out plays. Man up and get out there.
He doesn't need to "man up", he and the coaching staff need to try to lessen the number of hits he takes.
I'm just glad when he does have to go out we have a capable guy that can step right in. It's a nice luxury to have.

enough with the conspiracies "we may never know what really happened". Did I think he probably had a punctured lung on the sideline the way he was breathing? Yeah I did. They would have checked that at the hospital.
Its clear all that was wrong with Braxton is he has a case of pussy-itis.

Don't over analyze the phrase. All I'm saying is we've probably heard the last of it from the coaches.Pick6;1301869 wrote:enough with the conspiracies "we may never know what really happened". My wife said the same thing when he was on the sideline, that he looked like he was sobbing and maybe that's why they weren't taking his helmet off?derek bomar;1301844 wrote:.... and he cried.

If he was injured, I'm sure the coaches don't want to broadcast details to opposing players. No point in encouraging them to take shots at his ribs. (or whatever body part was injured)WebFire;1301870 wrote:All I'm saying is we've probably heard the last of it from the coaches.

Yep. Coaches will always report as little as they can about injuries when possible.FatHobbit;1301874 wrote:If he was injured, I'm sure the coaches don't want to broadcast details to opposing players. No point in encouraging them to take shots at his ribs. (or whatever body part was injured)

Urban mentioned a sore neck and whiplash a few times today at the presser.

This. What concerns me is now that he got a big time hit applied to him, how effective will he be the rest of the season?derek bomar;1301844 wrote:he got the wind knocked out of him. and he cried.
You can bet the Penn State linebackers are anxious to find out.

I disagree. This hit was a complete anomaly. It wasn't really a "hit" but more of a whipping to the ground. Miller has taken hits and been targeted before (think the MSU game when one MSU player knocked out Gholston).believer;1301938 wrote:This. I don't think this will make Miller tentative. Miller isn't exactly a small guy, and this was just a weird whip type situation to the ground.

So you can predict the future?ccrunner609;1301978 wrote:Either way....what you have is a gun shy QB that is not going to be playing up this weekend. I bet the gameplan is going to change and that Miller makes alot of mistakes. He is gonna run Hyde and pass alot. If that was the case just play Guitan.
Play Guiton? LMAO. If Miller is 100% you play him. Stop being so retarded.

He has been calling for Miller to be benched since the 1st half of game #1. Dude for some reason has it out for Miller.Automatik;1301985 wrote:So you can predict the future?

Some people are perceived as not being too bright, while others (cough, cough) choose to open their mouths and remove all doubt :rolleyes:ccrunner609;1301978 wrote:Either way....what you have is a gun shy QB that is not going to be playing up this weekend. This game will most likely start off ugly for OSU as normal. OSU is seemingly one of the worst 1st quarter teams (compared to what they are capable of) as opposed to PSU which has been particularly great in the 1st quarter.
I'm hoping that OSU can buck the trend.

It's CC; 'nuff said. Dude's probably just getting into his "cheer for Duke, bash OSU" mode to be ready for basketball season.Fly4Fun;1301994 wrote:He has been calling for Miller to be benched since the 1st half of game #1. Dude for some reason has it out for Miller.
