If you were listening for in-depth sports analysis, you were at the wrong place, there's about a thousand other shows you can watch/listen to for that. Common Man and the Torg was a sports entertainment show. I enjoyed leaving a long day at work, turning on 97.1, and getting some laughs out of their show.

I merely liked the change of pace offered by the Common Man and the Torg and believe they both adequately mixed humor and sports .

Except when he is calling people dopes and hanging up on them because he doesn't understand wtf they are talking about. Or his giant Ellis blunder that was an embarrassment to everyone. Or constantly teasing breaking news for it to be something insanely stupid. I want entertaining, but I want someone who isn't an absolute joke.

Its not that you have to like it. You dont have to like him its all a matter of opinion anyways. I enjoyed listening to him and common man on my way to work. I was always laughing at torg. To the people that like listening to krenzel you all really can go find yourselves that guy is nothing but boring.

I am basically in the same shoes. I don't even remember how I found the show, but I kept listening on my drive home everyday. It was entertaining to hear the two banter about random stuff. Krenzel is good, but it's not the same.

What did I not moderate?

Ellis is the guy that Torg didn't vet at all and believed that he was the inside guy from the tatgate stuff. He reported all kinds of "inside info" from "Ellis". Turns out he was just a random guy prankimg Torg.

It appears the guy did something right. Tressel ran Hooley out of town and the people rejoiced. Herbie runs this guy and we have a bunch of unhappy listeners.

so... what's the "inside story" that only 3 or 4 people know about Common Man just referred to?

I can't imagine there's much of an inside story, other than Torg bad-mouthing an ESPN employee on an ESPN network.

The end.

Uhhh..... Yeah that's not "nothing". Maybe to you, but that's pretty embarrassing to the station and not a very good job by him.

It's more embarrassing to him than it is to the station.

It would be bad if they were looked at as a sports reporting show giving out bad information. They're an entertainment show, that nobody takes seriously as far as sports knowledge goes, so I don't see it as that big a deal.

Except he tried to report it as serious insider news. It was pitiful.

I certainly understand why the station fired him, but I still feel like this is a big over raction. I can't help but think that Herbie had a lot to do with this, and the fact that The Fan is an ESPN Radio affiliate didn't help him either. I wonder if this would have happened had made that tweet about Mark May or a broadcaster on another network. Even though The Torg wasn't the most knowledgeable, him and Common Man were good together, he was opinionated, the show was funny, and they moved the needle.

I like Circle K as a third guy in the studio, but I don't think he'd make a good co-host. The guy has no personality.

I enjoyed their show very much. It reminded me of how my friends and I talk about sports and have fun goofing on each other. Krenzel is a good third wheel but is pretty boring and has no charisma to co host a show.

The rest of the personalities on that channel suck honestly and I probably won't listen anymore. The common and torg was pretty much the only reason I would ever turn on regular radio(have satellite radio.)

Interesting to see that they had the Second highest rated sports talk show in the country. Also nice to see that the Howard family accepted his apology. At the end of the day though if you are a media personality, you need to grow a pair and not get all worked up over things that might be said about you on twitter/facebook. As for Herbie, he can go eat a bag a dicks for all I care. I never liked that guy anyway.
