Those are the kind of grinders you need to win during a season like this. I'll take it.

Go Irish!

Just got back into town from the game. My wife was floored at how great of an experience it was seeing a game up there.

Few thoughts before I pass out.

1.) I hope Tommy Rees gets polio.
2.) Manti Te'o is good at the game of football.
3.) I hope Brindza got that all out of his system today. Jesus Christ that was bad.
4.) Kelly is an asshole for putting in Hendrix...seeing the offense do well for three straight plays...then taking him out and never letting him see the field again.

Thank God Golson will be back next week.

Yesterday was definitely one of those games a team has to trudge through and find a way to win during a (to this point) undefeated season. The defense looked mortal for the first time in a long time but they were put in some bad spots at times too. Still, they got the job
done when they needed to.

The offense had no rhythm under Rees for much of the game. Completely agree about putting Hendrix in and taking him out. I think Kelly shoulda left him in. I feel that ND won in spite of Tommy Rees, not because of him. Even with Golson being young and making mistakes at times....the offense just flows better with him at the helm and obviously he brings mobility to the position that Rees does not have.

The running game looked dominating again yesterday. Having three guys back there who can tote the rock is such a huge luxury to have. That was the best I've seen Theo run during his career. The o-line really won the battle...especially in the 2nd half. TJ Jones made a couple spectacular grabs. He's having a nice 2012 campaign. Eifert was involved early and made some nice catches as well.

Too many stupid penalties that gave BYU new life but I don't think that will be an issue going forward. A lot of missed tackles too. Just one of those days when things aren't really going right and you just have to tough it out and find a way. Two missed field goals that should not be missed. They never panicked.

It would be easy to come away from the game and feel worse about the team. But I actually feel better about the team after it. They faced adversity and responded well. Rees hopefully won't have to start any more games. No doubt they will be "up" for the Sooners. I like that ND is coming off a less than stellar performance. I don't think that will happen two weeks in a row. The secondary will be tested this game. Go Irish.

Because I was angry with how he played yesterday. And because I feel that (in the event that Golson gets hurt again), the only way Kelly would play Hendrix over Rees is if Rees no longer had the use of his legs.

Nice try. I didnt follow you. I'm here for discussion of college football, and noticed you contradicting yourself by posting on another team's thread.

One would argue from his mobility that Tommy Rees has already lost the use of his legs.
