When I moved to State College 10 years ago and then recently Tennessee, I kind of laughed when people in both locations said OSU fans are some of the most arrogant in the nation.

I'm beginning to understand why.
It might have to do with being one of the most successful programs in college football. Just a hunch.

According to Eddie George's sources, Braxton suffered a concussion. Cat scan came back negative. MRI still in progress.

He "hates" the fact that he has to "admit" OSU won today. It's certainly actively rooting for the university he attends to fail, so much so that the word hate comes to mind for him when it doesn't happen.

And what have they ever done for you?

This whole gimmick is only slightly less pathetic than the kids who used to root against their HS's football team.

Wasn't referring to OSU football....just the arrogance of OSU fans. Thanks for validating my point though.

Well, I'm more than 5 years out of school. With that said, I did go to UK for 2 years, which allowed me to transfer to OSU. Without those 2 years, I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. The lack of allegiance to OSU was there far before I chose to go to school there...

Not sure why we're arguing over it though. When it comes to arrogance, it exists everywhere. The bigger and more prominent the school, the more you hear that stuff.

Not sure either. Go to school wherever you want... I thought going to school was about bettering ourselves, not to decide who we root for. As long as you're not a bandwagon fan like cats, it's all good

What do you mean by this? Big picture to you, or big picture to the university? I would argue that a successful athletic program (aka, a successful football program) is a pretty significant boost in your overall university finances.

Obviously it doesn't hurt to win every game, but the revenue and support is very inelastic when it comes to being affected by a loss here or there. It's not like there is a direct correlation between a win and how well the school does.

Having to buy out a coach in football and basketball or fight an uphill battle in the media/public relations are far more detrimental than an October loss to Purdue...

Braxton Miller has passed all concussion tests and is symptom free. He is being released from the hospital per OSU

Right, but it's all related. There is no huge buy out for a football coach if the football program is lousy. No need for a PR battle if no one cares about your program.

Probably got a little freaked out. Probably saw some stars, and immediately thought he was seriously hurt. Probably wasn't making any sense and the doctors said he's out.

@ Penn St?

Nah, if he is healthy enough and if the coaches say he can play, play Miller.

Great news though.

He can rest against Illi and the bye week,

Despite a scare that had many Ohio State fans fearing the worse, an Ohio State spokesperson just revealed that [URL="http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/players/132058/braxton-miller"]Braxton Miller is presently being discharged from Ohio State Medical Center. A previous spokesperson said that Miller had undergone tests related to head, neck, and shoulder injuries and had also been evaluated for a potential concussion. Miller passed all the tests with spades and per FOX's Eddie George, underwent both a CAT scan and MRI, which ostensibly both came up negative.

[h=5]"Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller left the game against Purdue late in the third quarter. He was taken to the Wexner Medical Center, on the campus of The Ohio State University, because of concerns of a possible concussion. He was examined – head, shoulders and neck – and he has been cleared. He is symptom free of all ailments and he is doing fine. He is in the process of being released from the hospital."[/h]

apparently...

I'd still start Guiton at Penn State and keep him in there if the Buckeyes can hang without Miller.
