Appears the Reds are holding a closed-door meeting as we speak to discuss a potential roster move. Ownership, front office and the coaching staff are in there.

The risk of replacing Cueto would make it a no-brainer that Mike Leake would start game 4 and also a potential game 4 of the NLCS. If not Cueto, it sounds like it's possible they roll with Sam LeCure in game 4, with Simon, Hoover and others available if needed. With a loss, massive pressure would be on Mat Latos to return in game 5 against Matt Cain yet again.

Latos can handle the game 5 pressure....not enough rest for him to go game 4.

Cairo DL with made up injury....replace him with Leake....if Cueto heals he can pitch the NLCS....you DL Cueto and he's unavailable for the NLCS.

IMO opinion...don't jump the gun. Start LeCure tomorrow...bring in Simon when he's spent....then Hoover or Dondo....if winnable use the Marshall/Chapman combo....if not save them also for game 5.

The good news is Zito is very beatable at GABP. They may very well be able to get away with that. Agreed, you can't deactivate Cueto. The goal is a title. You gotta get there first, but you won't win a series against STL or WAS without Cueto. Not happening. You have to risk keeping him around giving him another week to heal.

If it gets to 5, having to beat Cain again...not liking that.

I wasn't sure about Leake starting but with the matchup against Zito, I feel fine with it, and hope Dusty starts Frazier and Heisey. Those two are fresh and I think there will be a lot of runs scored tomorrow.

Whole lot of over reaction from this game. Fellas, we have to win 1 out of 3 against the Giants, at GABP.

And Barry Zito is starting the next game.

This is Jocketty wanting a little extra revenue for the extra home game.

Must replace a pitcher with a pitcher, according to Jim Day.

We need to beat zito. I really don't like the idea of facing Cain again.

I was worried as soon as we lost last night, knowing our pitching situation. Wasn't comfortable with Latos going on 3 days rest, and I'm not comfortable with the alternative. I believe Leake had a very good game against the Giants earlier in the year though, so here's hoping for a repeat performance!

Well the giants offense blows so I think Leake will be able to give us a solid 7 and give up about 3. I think we'll be tied at 3 when the bullpens take over and we win on a walk off. We NEED this win!!!

Why did the Reds choose Mike Leake to replace the injured Johnny Cueto? He's 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA in his last 3 starts vs the Giants.
