How did Kent State do so well with Christian as a coach? He has an entire team that went to the Sweet Sixteen last year and has failed to accomplish anything of note.

Ohio has to be in the conversation for most underachieving team this season.

Other hugely disappointing teams are N.C. State (19-8, 5th in ACC), which was the preseason favorite to win the ACC and Top 10 team nationally, and Baylor (16-11, 6th in Big XII), which easily has Top 10 or 15 talent and will miss the NCAA Tournament completely. N.C. State hasn't lived up to any sort of expectation or enjoyed any real success in three decades, though, so it's not surprising. They are what they are and will likely remain what they are under Mark Gottfried.

Kentucky (preseason #3), Texas, and especially North Texas and Drexel have to be up there as well.

UCLA is another one at 19-7 and 3rd in the Pac-12. The Bruins were a top five team preseason nationally and currently unranked and lose almost weekly it seems.

Another HUGE one is Creighton. The Bluejays were preseason Top 15 with a NPOTY candidate and are 22-7 and losers of six of their last 11 games. If they duck into the Dance, they'll be out of it before the music starts.

The biggest disappointment of the year is Baylor. At least UK, UCLA, Creighton, Minnesota and NC State are possibly (or probably) going to make the tournament.

Baylor is on the outside looking in, playing in a league where they really should've been able to make some noise.

I have always given a pass to Scott Drew...but this year. Ouch.

Third straight Northwestern game that I have won on the spread. Around $150 total. It's a lock each and every time. I feel like I'm card counting. Depending on the spread, I might put down major cash on Thursday when Ohio State visits town.

I hate to ask this, but are there any other teams out there that have multiple injured players on them that I could bet against? I mean, I hope they weren't in car accidents, but maybe a torn rotator cuff or mild concussion. Thanks in advance.

Long Island and Wagner finished in crazy fashion tonight. The Blackbirds held a double-digit lead early, then Wagner took an 11-point lead with about two minutes left in the game, only to relinquish it completely with under 10 seconds to play after LIU tied the game at the free-throw line. Wagner then raced the length of the court and won on a lay-up at the buzzer. Not exactly a Mitch Albom recap, but I did my best. Incredibly entertaining and high scoring game.

Final was Wagner 94, LIU 92.

Since I imagine only a handful of Duke people (and ahdonis) actually click on the Duke thread, I thought I would provide an update on the Ryan Kelly situation here, since it could potentially affect the national title race.

According to the Duke staff as reported by USA Today, Ryan Kelly is expected to be back playing by March 5 against Va Tech, which would mean he'd be in the lineup when Duke travels to North Carolina later that week. That'd be huge for Duke in a fight that ensures to go the full 12.

On a related note, I had a five-game parlay today with $200 on the line. The only loss? Michigan State +3. Oh well. I only had like $6 on it so whatever. I can't even imagine how I'd feel if I were the other guy and lost out on $5000. I'd probably be in jail tonight for something or another. Damn.

Ouch I bet he wants to murder Derick Nix for fouling Craft with .3 seconds left with the score 66-60.

Iowa State is a good team, especially at home. Undefeated at the Hilton. That's a line I would stay away from.

I'm liking Nova at home at -5 against The Hall if the line holds. Seton Hall's lockerroom is like an emergency room with all of the injuries. Yes, that's been my betting strategy recently. After the beating I took last week, I'm looking for new angles.

Three of the Hall's four leading scorers -- Fuquan Edwin, Aaron Cosby and Brandon Mobley -- have all missed time or been limited by injuries at some point in the last few games, with Brandon Mobley out of the season with a shoulder problem. On top of that, Seton Hall has dropped 11 of 12 games and seven straight. This is not a team in good shape. We'll see.

It's a game a top 5 team should win.

Yeah, I went Kansas -2 as part of a parlay. I have gone against Sports' better judgement before when betting Kansas -- the Oklahoma game in Norman -- but I think Sports will be happy to be wrong this time. Hopefully, anyway. I'm probably wrong come to think of it...

Also went Marquette +2 at home and Nova moneyline. Tonight sucks for betting and my brain didn't want to, but my fingers were just too excited to pick and made the decision for me.

From the looks of the Marquette game, the writing is on the wall for me to cash out too. I had a decent weekend and should probably reap the benefits of it before I start getting irrational.
