My string of successful teasers is finally coming to an end. Georgetown can go fuck themselves. I even gave them a nine-point head start. I knew they would get embarrassed at home again to Pitt, but I picked them anyway because I mistakenly thought they were men.
Aside from my misfortune, JTIII once again has Georgetown playing some of the most mediocre ball of any "power" team in the country. He should be fired.

The No. 19 Hoyas are getting beat 43 to 72 at home in the Verizon Center against a pitiful Pittsburgh team that won't finish in the top 10 of the Big East. John Thompson's son consistently underperforms year after year, while playing the most ugly style of basketball in the nation, despite routinely grabbing his fair share of elite recruits and presiding over one of the 10 most dominant programs in college basketball history. The Hoyas aren't just ugly, they are a disgrace. They make Pete Carril's slowest Princeton squad look like the Oregon Ducks football team.
I feel better now. He needs to go. It's an embarrassment to the university's strong hoops heritage.

I feel like Georgetown has been one of the most overrated teams in the nation for 5-6 years now. Think they have 3 losses to double digit seeds in the tournament in the last 5 years. Might be wrong on that, but definitely don't think they are as good as people usually think.
Edit: After review, looks like last 5 years have resulted in 4 losses to double digit seeds and an NIT appearance. Even worse than I thought.

Exactly. Why people were anointing JTIII as one of the best coaches without a championship is beyond me. He is Dave Odom on Princeton. Like Odom, who rode the shoulders of Randolph Childress and Tim Duncan in the '90s, JTIII accumulated pretty much any meaningful coaching success while Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert were in Landover. It's time to turn in the towel. Elite he is not.Terry_Tate;1361389 wrote:I feel like Georgetown has been one of the most overrated teams in the nation for 5-6 years now. And yes, I'm mad, bro. Ha.

It other news, the bottom 5 teams in the SEC (maybe bottom 7) have decided to form their own division of the Sun Belt. Odds still only have one of them as 10:1 to win the Sun Belt Championship...pathetic.
I've been a devout SEC basketball fan for almost 20 years. I've never seen a worse set of teams. Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and any other 2-4 teams on a nightly basis are putrid. Look at the OOC losses already for these teams. I mean I projected South Carolina to suck, but they are 10-3 without Bruce Ellington and with Frank Martin at the helm, I actually think they might end up winning 20 games and making an NCAA bid run.
Even more amazing, South Carolina has lost impact players due to transfer. Anthony Gill to Virginia, Damontre Harris to Florida, Ramon Galloway to LaSalle and 2 other transfers to D-1 programs. The first 3 are impact players, 2 of the 3 were All-SEC performers in their first year at USC. The fact that they don't suck big time is a testament to how shitty the SEC really is this year...

Kansas looks awful. Can't make a shot and can't get a rebound. Down 6 at home to Iowa State with 7 minutes left.

Haha wow McLemore with a garbage banked 3 with a second left to tie the game.
Eastern Kentucky up 39-25 on Murray State at the half, and Wichita St down 9 at half at home to Southern Ill.

In an actually decent SEC game, Ole Miss leads Tennessee early in the 2nd half in Knoxville. The Rebels at 11-2, have been one of the few bright spots in the league. Definitely a contender and have shown to be above Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee, who were projected higher than them.

UNLV's Katin Reindhardt will be one of the most exciting players in college basketball by the time he's a junior. There is definitely flashes of former Tark the Shark gunner Chris Herren, who played for Tarkanian at Fresno in the late '90s.

For real though..didn't catch the game. Turned on my phone when they were down by 3 and got pretty pissed, then saw B Mac hit a 3. Didn't realize it was banked haha oh well, it still counts.
Shouldn't be struggling with Iowa State at home, regardless. That's bullshit.

I missed the first half, but he was on fire tonight. Absolutely tore it up. But that shot was trash haha.SportsAndLady;1362285 wrote:For real though..didn't catch the game. Azubuike24 is officially the jackass of the night as Mississippi State beats South Carolina. Haha. See 11 posts above for the proper explanation.

He's absolutely ridiculous. Self has called him "easily" the best player he's ever coached. Probably the best talent in Lawrence since Paul Pierce.Mulva;1362287 wrote:I missed the first half, but he was on fire tonight. Absolutely tore it up. But that shot was trash haha.

Haha. I was going for that three post in a row thing, but wildcats already pointed it out.
Anyway, this game had an FSU win written all over it. The Seminoles absolutely needed it, and Maryland was not playing Duke.

While watching the OU-Buffalo game on STO last night, I've come to the decision that their MAC announcers might be the most entertaining to listen to while you have a buzz.
They're so over-the-top in praising/idolizing players and coaches that it's unreal. I'm pretty sure both OU coach Jim Christian and point guard D.J. Cooper can walk on water after that game and they may be the greatest coach and player to ever grace a court at any level with their presence. At least that's how the announcers made it sound.
