Ohio State and TCU have scheduled a football home and home series for 2018 (in Fort Worth, Texas) and 2019 (in Columbus).

What is the smallest stadium that OSU has visited in OOC play in recent memory (15 years or so)?

I'm just wondering as the TCU stadium only sits 45k, which is less than any B1G school (but not by much in a few cases). But generally when doing a return trip the only schools that get those have larger stadiums... or at least that's what it seems like hence the question.

I would think TCU will have a bigger stadium by then since they are in a bigger conference and can make more money/have more of a turnout for games.

They're currently having a lot of renovations going on right now so I expect the stadium size to go up.

They don't have a lot of alumni to tap into. I don't see them getting much bigger. Plus they just spent over 100 million renovating their stadium. Doubt they'll do that again soon.

So why does OSU go to TCU on the road but pay UC 1 million dollars to not play at Paul Brown Stadium (seats over 60K)?

Not directed you Cats.

This is most likely to happen.

I think you're right. Will probably move there. OSU travels really well. Could probably be a sellout even there, if its marketed well.

I don't think this will happen if TCU can help it. Even though it's in their backyard, they don't have a great following. It'd be a good possibility that Jerry's World would = a home game for OSU.

Wouldn't surprise me. Really give up the home field advantage when you move off campus, (even though its just up the road).

That and the fact they sometimes have trouble with selling out their own 45K stadium. Let's say they're able to sell 50K to Jerry's World. That could give OSU what 50-55K? That turns into a road game.

OSU travels well, but I don't know about 50K well for a non-bowl game.

Touchè. Also, with the Cowboy Classic this year, Michigan and Alabama only got 35K each. That left around 30K for investors, suits, Dallas businessmen....

If it wound up in Jerry's World, it'd be about the same breakdown.

Thanks to E. Gordon Gee....this was one of the first things that came to mind when I saw this announced.

Not surprised non-OSU fans are trying to bring up the sisters of the poor comment.

The comment was made in reference to the fact that those schools weren't playing tough schedules. Now OSU has scheduled them (giving them another opportunity to play a tougher schedule) and you still want to slam OSU?

OSU's schedule isnt much harder than the lil sisters of the poors' schedule. And why did OSU drop UGA and Tenn but then pick up TCU? Is it because of the Pac12 vs B10 deal (if thats even going thru still) or what? Inquiring minds wanna know. TIA
Btw, the Tennessee games were for the same years that OSU now has TCU.
UGA games were for 2020/21

No one is slamming Ohio st. Most think its just funny to see them schedule TCU after bashing them 2 years ago

I believe one of if not both of those schools were dropped because of the scheduling conflict if the B1G/PAC12 series was going to happen and OSU dropped them in anticipation for that. But then that ended up falling through.

Also, OSU's schedule not harder than TCU's? Let's pick 2010 as Crimson mentions 2 years ago.

TCU:

Oregon State (Cowboys stadium - Neutral)
Tennessee Tech
Baylor
At SMU
at Colorado State
Wyoming
BYU
Air Force
At UNLV
At Utah
San Diege State
at New Mexico

OSU:
Marshall
Miami (Fl.)
Ohio
Eastern Michigan
at Illinois
Indiana
Wisconsin
Purdue
at Minnesota
Penn State
Iowa
Michigan

Both schools realistically only had 1 OOC game worth talking about (Oregon State and Miami).

Conference play is in no way comparable. Hence the comment.

It had something to do with it, although I don't know the exact details. It was discussed on here.

All I said was that was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Also, I've seen some OSU fans criticize Gee for that (and other comments of his) in the past.

They were dropped because of the pending PAC 12 agreement that fell through, yes.
