Ya, only 5 finals appearances and 3 titles between the two of them over the 5 previous seasons indicates how bad they are.Pick6;1453596 wrote:Im obviously not arguing against their historical success. The do not currently have the best management, which is what you stated.

Firing Karl isn't a bad move. He's a good coach, but at some point losing in the first round every season can't be good enough.

Spurs +5? Or should I wait until Miami wins game 1 by double figures, and then bet SA +6 or 7 on Saturday?

Two appearances, 1 Championship (2010). I'm assuming you were trying to cherry pick out that year, but past 3 seasons to me means the last three full seasons (past as in done) and this one has yet to complete as the Finals just started.Pick6;1453625 wrote:How many the past 3 seasons combined?
Anyways, I'm not going to argue this further as I really don't care for trying to defend the Lakers or Celtics. I hate both teams in general, but I at least acknowledge that they have done very well from a managerial perspective.

Two fouls on Duncan already doesn't bode well for the Spurs.

Pick 6 trying to cherry pick and argue with the exceptions? I'm shocked. /sarcasmFly4Fun;1453632 wrote:Two appearances, 1 Championship (2010). San Antonio's tempo is playing right into Miami's hands, open looks everywhere. SA is not nearly as big or physical as Indiana either. They should slow it down and try and feature Duncan for a while instead on Parker playing 1000 miles per hour.

Yea F4F is going back half a decade to make his point and I'm the one cherry picking :rolleyes:Commander of Awesome;1453640 wrote:Pick 6 trying to cherry pick and argue with the exceptions? I'm shocked. /sarcasm
Both franchises had their run and are on the downturn. The only way that changes in the immediate future is because a FA falls into their laps because of their history/market. Has nothing to do with "great management" at the present.

Bill Simmons is a writer.
He should not be heard.
Why can't they just bring in the TNT crew? They need to just make that happen. Well replace Shaq with Magic possibly.

Pick 6 you sound pretty silly in this. You can have great management and it doesnt make your players magically better in 1 season. You also aren't wizards who can see into the future. You look at their body of work and see that they have made good moves far more than bad ones. Every team makes dumb mobes. It's inevitiable because again, you aren't a "wizard" and people get hurt, some players don't develop, .. its unpredictable. However the Lakers and Celtics have a track record of success and that points to having great management.

Wow... Parker with a prayer at the buzzer after falling down to secure the game for the Spurs.

How often does a guy have a stat line of 18, 18, and 10 and still lose?
LeBron can't be a facilitator in this series and win, simply because no one else on his team can consistently make a jump shot. He gets wide open looks for them constantly, and more often than not, they miss. I know San Antonio is doubling him, but if Miami is gonna win this series, he has to force the issue.
Really, I don't care though. A lot of guys on both teams that I just don't care for.

So you give your analysis on the game, then say you don't care?ironman02;1453693 wrote:How often does a guy have a stat line of 18, 18, and 10 and still lose?

I don't have a preference about who wins. Just watching to enjoy the series. Don't be a dick.DeyDurkie5;1453694 wrote:So you give your analysis on the game, then say you don't care?

Maybe I should've said, "I don't care who wins though", so you'd feel better about it.

Was a fun game. That one game was more exciting then the entire last series. That shot from parker was ridiculously lucky, but huge. Spurs def have a bigtime chance to win it. Lbj wasn't aggressive at all tonight.

Eh.. what are the great moves LA has made recently? Hiring Mike Brown over Brian Shaw againt Kobe's wishes? Firing Brown after a 1-4 start this season? Hiring D'Antoni over Phil Jackson (lol)? All that they gave up to rent Howard for one season? They Lakers gave the Cavs a second first rounder this year to rent Ramon fucking Sessions for half a season. Im pretty sure they Lakers dont have a first round pick until 2019. The absolute only way the Lakers have any chance in the foreseeable future after Kobe is by getting lucky in FA.rydawg5;1453654 wrote:Pick 6 you sound pretty silly in this. IMO, and im sure a lot of Lakers fans feel similar, the future doesnt look very bright at the moment for LA.
So, yeah, Im no wizard and cant predict the future spot on, but it doesnt mean I cant make an prediction based on recent events.

San Antonio is a better team. I love what Simmons said there, Miami looked like they lost their identity. Didn't play a PG the last 5 minutes and Lebron couldn't guard Parker because of how good he is without the ball. I mean Miami almost lost to a well disciplined, complete Indiana team that couldn't hold a possession. SA doesn't turn the ball over and so Miami couldn't kill em with fastbreaks off turnovers all game. IMO Miami played great, Lebron had a heck of a game, but the Heat have so many holes I have a hard time seeing them win this series. Can't rebound the ball, soft inside, do not shoot as well as the Spurs do
