And go where?

I think Bosh can/will come around. I'm unsure on Wade...he looks spent.

Heat bigs are at least fighting for rebounds tonight and the guards have helped out. Taken a few potential putbacks for indiana away. Though tonight theyd probably miss them anyway

David West can probably only go reserve minutes in the 2nd half. This illness he has is killing his effectiveness, and in turn, the Pacers. He is such a big mismatch too, so thats a huge loss.

Also might be why Vogel wont listen to me and keep him playing starter minutes lol

Well, probably wherever he wants.

We have no clue what teams will look like after next year, but Im sure there will be plenty of desirable destinations for him.

So, what did we end up with for Indy? 5 missed dunks?

Here's my thinking..

After next year, LeBron is still a max contract guy (duh). Wade and Bosh are not gonna get paid more than the 20 and 22 million they'll be due in the final two years of their deals, so no way will they exercise the ETO.

That puts Miami in a position where they have a great player and two overpaid guys who can't produce like they did in 2011... and not much else. They'll be a destination for the older guys who have made money and just wanna win, but Wade and Bosh are depended upon to contribute BIG.

Knicks salary cap situation is fucked for a few years, even if Melo leaves. Melo bails, they'll be left with Amare, Chandler, Kidd, and 10 mill to spend. That's awful.

I could honestly see him going back to Cleveland, and the Lakers will be there. Especially if Dwight leaves.. Lakers would have the money to sign TWO max players

If Miami continues to win rings, they will still be THE destination for guys who already have 8 figures saved in the bank. Especially if they get a better coach. You might see a viable 18-20 PPG guy be willing to go there for a MLE, or even less. Either that or LeBron leaves and the Heat are in for a few very lean years while those other contracts come off the books.

Still, they had to see this coming eventually. If they end up with 3 or titles in the span, it was worth it.

Dont think the players association will allow that.

So it wont be NYK...

I dont know the situations of the NBA teams. But LeBron can go wherever the fuck he wants and they will make it work.

They kind of already have. I mean you're telling me that Shane Battier or Ray Allen couldn't have gotten far more money from a piss poor team with cap space like Sacramento or Charlotte? Their market value is well over 3M a year, but a guy like Allen has made over 100M in his career. Money is irrelevant...therefore he basically has no market value.

Just glancing at the HoopsHype salaries page..

Cleveland has $0 tied up (will def re-sign Kyrie)

Lakers have $9 mill tied up (Dwight? Kobe retire?)

Dallas, Milwaukee, Utah and Detroit have a ton of space too.

Dallas was one I was thinking would be plausible. Cuban will field a winner with LeBron for sure.

Neither of them are 18-20 ppg players like you mentioned.

And in Battiers case, has never been (nor has be been close).

At least Allen used to be a 20+ ppg scorer.

No, but it's a dangerous precedent. Allen would still be close if he was on a terrible team.

Also, I wasn't say they were what I was referring to. Just that you've already seen it to an extent with guys bypassing true market value to go to a winner. It's always talked about, but historical trends show it rarely happened (guys taking far less money in anything).

I dont think a guy say like monte ellis or jennings would be able to do it I think the PA would step in and say no.

I'd think those guys are too young and not rich enough to consider it.

Someone like Joe Johnson? He could easily step right in for Allen, and would be a bit better to make up for a little lost with Wade.
