I usually go all in with AA. If someone calls, I am automatically ahead to double up. If I lose, it is usually to someone who had a decent hand to call at least. Not many (even idiots) call an all in pre-flop (of course, depends on how much money you have).

I lost a 1500 dollar hand on friday w QQ preflop...I make it 35 to go in a 1-2 game and get two callers. im in between them. flop comes Q89...first to act bets 150...i go all in for 400 more...this asian chick is last and she calls, and so does the original bettor. the first better has 88..the chick has 710 turn is a 3 and river is a J. She scraped the whole pot. this was at 3:45 am. I played great all night and turned 160 into around 600 and lost it on one hand to one of the worst players that plays there. i have no one to blame but myself but i was still pretty pissed.

They will lose over time if they play this way. Every time I get pocket aces I make a large bet pre-flop and if nothing dangerous hits, I make an extremely large bet to win the hand right then.

When in doubt, raise. Always raise. Slow playing just gets you burnt. Not saying I never slow play, but I usually come out firing whether I hit something or not.

The basic strategy is to win pots, no matter how big or small. Show your hands early in the night ONLY when you have a monster hand. This way, betting signals to the other players that you are only betting when you have a monster. Later in the night, you can bluff your way to $.

I'm at On Tap all the time...you ever go in there? They get a lot of spillover business from there.

pocket aces are only a hard hand to play because many people have issues reassessing made and potential hands after the flop. People let emotions take over and bet away no matter what's on the board.

By show do you mean actually show or "show" by betting big?

Like if you win the pot, or if everyone folds. I only recommend doing this until you've built a solid reputation enough that people think that when you bet, you have something big.

7-9, 10-8, etc suited aren't bad hands to play actually. Not call big, but play.

+1. Most people just can't fold. I see this all the time with people who have A/trash flop an A and make big calls and bets all the way to the river when it's damn obvious that they are beat.

That's funny. I've been going there since it opened. Used to live behind there on Slade Ave. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Middle suited connectors are hands taylor made to crack aces. there are just tons of outs to hit. and if the flop comes out dry it's easy to fold

Exactly, and it's not locked like many straights toward either other end.
