What about the older African-American citizens who were born in homes and not hospitals? These folks don't have birth certificates. How are they going to obtain the necessary I.D.? What about those poorer people who relocated to urban areas in states different from where they were born? Would they be able to obtain a copy of their birth certificate for free? This is where it gets tricky. In reality, if someone had to pay any money in order to get an approved I.D. in order to vote then it could be considered a Poll Tax. Some of you older folks might remember what those were back in the real Jim Crow days.

Yeah...my bad. In the year 2012, it's all about keeping blacks from voting. It has nothing to do with insuring that those casting votes are actually legal citizens of the United States. :rolleyes:

Whether or not it's about making it difficult for poor, poor black folks from voting or insuring that all votes cast are cast from Americans with bonafide citizenship, I will NEVER understand the mindset that can understand we need a valid photo ID to enter the Democratic National Convention site, or cash a check, or purchase a home, etc.....but OH NO's - we cannot ask for that very same ID when you vote because it is a discriminatory practice.

Student IDs are given to foreign students and they are the exact same as American students at nearly all American universities. It only takes 10 seconds of thought to realize why student IDs wouldn't be counted.
