Your being funny. Can LeBron be wearing a retro Elway jersey? Can Hines Ward be an honorary coin flipper?

Modell family has asked the Cleveland Browns to NOT honor Art at the game, basically saying nothing is better than 70,000 boos.

http://deadspin.com/5941624/art-modells-family-requests-no-moment-of-silence-at-cleveland-browns-stadium-this-sunday

Apparently according to Peter King's Twitter, Holmgren called and asked the Modell family how they would like the Browns to handle it, and their request was to just not do anything to avoid the pure hate that would come from it.

We'll see if asshole Goodell comes over the top and tells the Modell family that they have no say in how to honor their own family member. You know Roger wants to.

I think that was a very good idea and I like how it was handled.

Holmgren never should've needed permission or a request from his family to opt against anything for Modell.

They asked for a moment of silence at the game today in Houston. I was like hell no. I hope the SOB burns in hell. A few Ohio transplants around us agreed with my sentiment.

I don't think people ever felt Arrt was forced to leave.

He always had a choice. He chose to leave.

There are plenty who think he had no choice.

Yeah...just read this and the Browns thread and you'll find a couple posters who genuinely think he had no choice

I edited the photo from this article to make Model have evil eyebrows, devil horns and holding a big fat dick. Which is what I'm sure he wanted at the time. I'd post it on here for all to share in teh lulz, but adsense and all. PM me for the link if interested.

Count me among them, although it must be noted that he had no choice because he completely mismanaged the team's finances to the point where he needed a sweetheart deal to remain as the majority owner. I would have preferred that he sell off controlling interest to Lerner in exchange for keeping the team solvent. Of course, Art's ego wouldn't allow him to do that, because he was concerned that the team remain in family hands. Fast forward a few more years and Art screwed up the finances once again. This time he "had no choice" but to take on a minority partner with the stipulation that he would eventually buy Modell's controlling interest. Quite a legacy of "choices" for Modell. His position in Browns' history was secured on the tarmac in Baltimore.

Speaking of Al Lerner, I notice nobody crucified him for his role in the move of the Browns. It was Al's private jet that took Art to that now infamous presser at the Baltimore airport. A few years later Lerner was being hailed as a savior in Cleveland for buying the expansion Browns. Of course, he mismanaged the operations side of the franchise and they have never been serious contenders for anything except high draft choices since then.

Modell and the Lerners suck in my mind...how are you the owner for that long and never take them to the super bowl?

Modell is just a scumbag, whereas the Lerners are good people.
