Seven. At least. Plus a coach...at who's house the party allegedly started. At any respectable program, any player who was anywhere near that house is off the team. At Big Red, they play...since "they haven't been charged." I don't know of any other program where you have to actually be charged with a crime to get the boot, but whatever.
Seven raped her? Or five witnessed while two raped her? Two raped her while five others knew something sexual was going on? Two raped her while five others watched? You claim to know.
I don't pretend to know because mostly I don't personally know anyone involved. And I'm not about to go snooping around to ask.
And I never implied "Boys will be boys", that's your interpretation of my comment. That's yours and yours alone.
Are you implying that ALL people from Steubenville are equal to your purported
Seven? I hope not. There's 18,000 people that didn't participate in the 'event' that brings this thread here. So, in the scheme of things, they are a few fuck ups. Sorry, but that would be the truth. Anybody who would commit rape would have to have a few mental defects to even begin to think that's okay, let alone to go through with it. Are you arguing rape is a common thought of the common man? It's just the 'common man' hasn't acted on it?
In the comparison to Penn State, I was speaking more of the perps penchant for sodomy.
Although the CYA mentality of the town seems to be kicking in nicely...we'll see soon enough how far up the chain it goes I suppose.
I highly doubt the anal sex angle was the intent of the comparison. If it was, I'm sure a better crafted joke could've been made. But again, that sense of illiciting humor from the situation strongly implies to everyone that the RAPE is not a concern to you, this is just your opportunity to degrade a city you strongly dislike and feel a perverse joy while doing it.
This shouldn't be a situation to make light of. You don't see Big Red fans, or residents of Steubenville making jokes about what some sick fucks did at a party where felonies were committed in sick acts.
As for your CYA comment, do you really think someone from a city should take ownership of every act every person in that city perpetrates? Really? Do you think that's how blame gets handed out?
I'm sorry, but I'm not my brother's keeper.
And going back, despite all the rumor and innuendo being spewed about by you and your ilk, you still don't know the facts. I don't know the facts. But between the two of us, you're the only one pretending you do.
If there's more arrests, great, I hope guilty parties are held accountable for what they've done. If not, so be it.
This wasn't some run of the mill high school party gone awry. The school shouldn't just suspend everyone rumored to have been there, sullying their name with that of rapists. Those that witnessed the alleged acts should be gone off the team(s), but it would be a travesty to arbitrarily do so in a knee jerk reaction lest you want to brand some kids as rape-enablers when they did nothing more than hang out with friends while a crime was committed.
