LeBron with a huge 3 then Pau Gasol with a screening foul at half court.

Chris Paul with a great layup with the shot clock expiring.

I think Chris Paul has established himself as the best PG. Deron Williams and Westbrook both just haven't performed on the same level.

Tip of the cap for how LeBron took that question. Perfect.

"This is all about the USA, the three letters on our chest. It's not about me." - LeBron. Fuck yeah.

Shit fires me up. I'm starting to drink right now.

What a two-year stretch for Michael K. A fourth national championship, the all-time wins leader in men's college basketball and a second Olympic Gold medal. Only Wooden did it better. On the college level, they are in a class of their own at this point.

As for the USA men's team, what a finish. The USA program is in great position moving forward. The culture of greatness has been restored. The last six years have been fun.

I'm not so positive about USA basketball moving forward. It seems like Stern wants to tear it down which is a shame.

A loss in the World Championship or Rio would squash that.

Man, I forgot Doug Collins was apart of that 1972 team that got jobbed. You can just hear how it still gets at him.

Any guesses on '16 roster without an age limit(and all players healthy of course)?

G-Paul(31)/Rose(27)/Westbrook(27)/Harden(26)
F-Carmelo(32)/Durant(27)/LeBron(31)/Love(27)
C-Davis(23)/Howard(30)

Last 2 spots will go to some kids who are currently in college or about to be...Shabazz Muhammed(22) and Jabari Parker(21)? If Irving(24) is on the team, who's spot does he take? Westbrook?

After what kyrie did at the Olympic scrimmages he will definitely be on it barring injury. I think this might have been Paul's last Olympics but he will be only 31 so I dk what you do with him.

I think Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be on the 2016 team. He's going to be a better version of Iguodala/Artest IMO.

DeMarcus Cousins will also be an option. He's got some big strides to make in the next 2 years, but he's capable of being the best center in the NBA. Andrew Bynum also has to be considered.

Brandon Jennings, depending how he progresses.

Chris Paul might make it on name, but given the crop of PG's under 25, I have a feeling he's going to have a tough time making the team.

This would obviously, in all probability, completely reverse the transformation of the USA program that we've witnessed since '04. You are absolutely right. I wasn't taking that possibility into consideration in my post. I guess I just hope that Stern does not get his way. I truly believe that the players want to do this, that they want to be part of something bigger than they are. The unadulterated excitement on the faces of the League's greatest superstars at the end of the gold medal game today said it all. Playing for their country means more than anything else.
