Grevers and Thoman in the second semi-final go 1st and 3rd respectively. Both should make the finals, Thoman is questionable since I didn't catch times from 1st heat.

Edit:

Grevers is top seed (lane 4) going into the finals, Thoman will be the 5th seed (lane 2).

Ready for this 4x100 relay. Adrian, Phelps, Jones, and Lochte should give the US a great chance at gold.

Missy Franklin and Rachel Bootsma trying to make the finals in the 100 Back. I would love to coach Rachel Bootsma as I bet that name would be fun as hell to yell angrily. Damnit Bootsma, swim faster.

I believe Franklin has a shot at the WR in this event, possibly she'll go for it in the finals.

Franklin wins the 1st heat 59.12. She took it easy early on and turned it on the last 25 to make sure she won the heat. I think she has more in the tank for the finals.

Looks like Bootsma is 9th overall so won't make finals. Missy Franklin will be the 2nd seed in the 100m Back (lane 5).

Watching the Americans walk out of the tunnel, I'm not feeling a gold. They did not look into it. I'm thinking silver at best, possibly a bronze. I'm hoping I'm wrong and they take down Australia.

Phelps looking strong so far, still maintaining lead.

Phelps pulls away a bit off the wall.

Phelps looks like a legit sprinter.

Jones is 3rd.

Ryan Lochte has the lead going into his leg.

He loses a little ground on the 1st 50, and loses the rest on teh 2nd 50.

THe french steal the 4x100M free like the Americans did to them 4 years ago.

Ryan Lochte did not look that good, perhaps a bit tired from the 400IM and 200Free already.

Lochte having to swim the semis of the 200 Free a while ago must have hurt him. Can't believe he lost the lead though.

Phelps looked like his old self that time.

My take away:

Phelps looked really strong, I think he might have more overall speed than Beijing, but he doesn't have the endurance. And Lochte is starting to look a bit tired.

I agree with this. Phelps definitely doesn't have his typical endurance, but he does appear to be just as fast, if not faster, than he has been in the past. That probably bodes well for the rest of the Olympics.

Lochte was definitely affected by swimming another race about an hour and a half ago. It sucks that his bid for all golds in London is over already.

And Ramirez wins a close one, 21-20 over the Frenchy. And the U.S. is 3-0 so far in boxing. Fight wasn't that close though watching it.

Spence wins 16-10, and Americans are 4-0. He advances to the Round of 16. He was pretty dominate the whole match.
