Someone out there is going to try to blame the violence and example led by the villains in the Batman movies. But the reality is there are just some sick and mentally disturbed people in the world.

It's gut-wrenching seeing shit like this and especially when you read the youngest victim in the shooting was 6. I have a 6 year old son who loves Batman and wants to see this movie....thinking about that literally disheartens me to the core.
Hopefully they don't puss out and proceed to give this shooter a quick and painful death.

Unless you're in law enforcement or trained in special ops, I seriously doubt you'd have been able to stop a surprise attack such as this. Chances are you would've started shooting at anyone with a costume on, which was prolly over half the theater....just sayin'.imex99;1229652 wrote:Situations like this is why I've started carrying my second weapon more over the last few years when I used to not wear very often.... This is a sick individual with a plan and with intention to do harm...
Some individual that carry weapons CCW are ex-military/special or cops trained in situation like this. However I will agree that the reaction time wouldn't be as sharp as once was. I'm a strong support of CCW but in situation like this every thing and anything is skewed. Damage done within seconds just as planned and the individual then seek excape. There is no preventive action ... the only preventive mode was when this individual got out of his car dressed in combat gear and carring a weapon. Even them someone would have to see and approach the individual and situation to prevent this from happening.

This is not quite as bad as...
When I was a Junior in High School on 9-11-01 , the kid sitting next to me in history demanded the air force arm him with an F-16 so he could stop the terrorists. He was serious.

Actually the evacuation was much more calm than I had imagined.
I know they have a suspect in custody, I wonder why he stopped shooting. I would think if you were planning on doing this, you would load up a lot more ammunition than he apparently had.
Also, is this the last movie that theatres will allow patrons to dress up like the movie characters, for safey's sake?

Dang guys, no action hero just saying I've been carrying my off duty more often for protection of my family and how crazy the local news has been.....
Not saying it would help in this situation but life is crazy and has me carrying again.
Let's focus on the tragedy not my little comment, I was just saying...

Ran into the parking lot, already police there. Bullet-proof vest with a rifle and two hand guns. I think he may have put the handguns I the theater before the movie.

There was a 3-month old injured. WTF is a 3-month old doing in that movie theater? WTF is wrong with people?SnotBubbles;1229639 wrote:It's gut-wrenching seeing **** like this and especially when you read the youngest victim in the shooting was 6. I have a 6 year old son who loves Batman and wants to see this movie....thinking about that literally disheartens me to the core.
Hopefully they don't **** out and proceed to give this shooter a quick and painful death.

Or a 6 year old for that matter.
Every aspect of this tragedy is disturbing.

Well it is only rated PG-13. I could see a 6 year old at a weekend matinee.

^^ A few videos in that article, including one with a phone interview with a person who was in the theater when it happened. Praying for everyone involved.

Chances are you would've started shooting at anyone with a costume on, which was prolly over half the theater....just sayin'.

From what i understand there were also victims in the lobby and parking lot. Not just inside the theatre.Fly4Fun;1229657 wrote:Who are you, Mark Wahlberg? But seriously, the guy threw in some kind of gas grenade. I highly doubt that in a dark theater under the effects of probably tear gas or some other gas that you would have been able to accurately fire your gun to kill a gunman in a bullet proof vest and not just injure another movie goer in the process.
