Yeah, Im thinking 5IP from Lowe today would be a steal. Pen should be good to go though, if we have a lead.BRF;1230172 wrote:Whew! Dodged a bullet there!

Now that was pure, pure drama folks. Thome road running into second while Damon's rocket arm tried to cut him down. It gets no better than that.

Another Acta boner. A truck on third with one out and he plays the infield back. And Lowe needs to hooked NOW before the game gets out of reach.

As soon as Lowe gave up the double he should have been yanked.

Boy oh boy.
What the heck.
I can't stand Acta.
Thome...49% of me wants to congratulate him. 51% of me wants to boo him.

Yes sir.
Will give you guys Drew Stubbs straight up for Damon. Damon, while diminished in skills is over .300 his last 19 starts and will still go all out whenever needed. Stubbs is a young thoroughbred that refuses to slide or dive in the OF.

Alomar want too much of the Dolan's money. I'll say Acta is replaced by the winning manager of the Cleveland Little League City Series.

Too bad everyone for Cleveland wasn't a Damon (would be fun watching Damon pitch 53 mph)

BRF could bring it at that speed and I'm 59 years old!
(how did you come up with the 53, btw?)
One more thing: As I was typing this, I was listening to the Indian "highlights" and heard that "da-ling" sound when our player touches the plate.
I don't like this. Every time I hear this I cringe.
Score a run............"da-ling"......(I would say that's gay, but I won't and just say it sounds stupid, instead.)

Hell, he might need Manny as a relay (one of my all-time favorite ) to get it there.
Still say Stubbs...straight up

I've got a good trade for you. Tribe deals Vinny Pestano to Cardinals straight up for Allen Craig. Tribe gets a good RH hitter and Cards get the set-up man they so desperately need.

reps to footwedge for solid analysis.
LOLO at Manny Acta. He does not care about winning. Period.
I think , however, it is not that Acta doesn't care...he doesn't know HOW.
Moreover, they get 35,000 in the stands, and he lets the game get out of control before our team comes to bat for the third time (second time in a week, I might add). It's bad enough when it's on the road....
Someone please explain to me what made him think that Lowe was somehow going to suddenly find it? Balls were being hit all over the yard with great velocity... add to that 4 + walks in 2 innings.... And just to put the exclamation point on the stupidity, he brings Lowe back for the 4th to give up a monster HR to Thome and issue another walk! People are going to jump on Lowe...who had a bad outing obviously...9 earned runs in 3 innings! ...but part of that is the managers fault, leaving him out there way to long, when it was obvious he didn't have it.
Left the game early...didn't even stay for the fireworks.

without knowing the contract situation, and right off the top of my head I'd say that's tempting, but I think I'd offer Joe Smith and a prospect instead.
I've got a good trade for you. I'd have to investigate it more thoroughly, not following the NL very much...but I think Smith, and even Pestano are expendable in the right circumstance.

Right on bro. Just another unwritten rule today that managers can't have a so called "quick hook". In the 60's, Tommy John made what I think was his Indian debut. The press raved about John and how good he would be. My dad took us to this game and we were about 10 minutes too late for the start. The crowd was enormous and already roaring before we had gotten through. What they were roaring about was a 3 run tape measure job that Mantle had just hit (damn Yankee fans). Well, by the time we got our seats, John was hooked after giving up the home run....in the first inning.HitsRus;1230342 wrote:reps to footwedge for solid analysis.

We have something like 12 arms on the staff. They all get payed to play. If the starter is shit....get him out.
Sorry to hear that. But can't say I blame you. With 35000 fans in attendance, Acta should be fined by Antonetti for allowing this type of blowout with that many fans at the game.Left the game early...didn't even stay for the fireworks.
