Wow, just pure speculation, maybe he was just trying to build the program back and then hand it off to someone else. But Stunning

Not surprising at all, and expect to see JB on the sidelines in '10. And the program that lands him will be in good hands!

He was telling people midseason. Talent is gone. So is coach.

This is surprising. Talent being gone I suspect has zero to do with his departure. I doubt the cupboard is that bare and I don't think that's JB's style in the least. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

In the full article today, he seems like he just doesn't want to commit to it that much anymore. Said he wants to just be an assistant somewhere.

That is a flat out lie. I mean that is a 100%, I have nothing else to do so I will start a flat out lie on the free huddle type of comment.

Talent is gone....he said that...Really??? He has his three year starting QB back with 3 returning receivers and three returning O_linemen. He also has two RB's coming up that have the ability to do whatever they want with the football in the younger Hughes and Charles Smith. He has all of his LB's back along with several DB's, and to top it off...an outstanding kicker/ punter. But he said midseason that the talent is gone so he is gone also? Jeff Bayuk told you that....really??

Go tell your stories somewhere else.

The man feels it is time to move on. I don't want him to. But I do not control his thinking, and he has his reasons. What the Board of Education needs to realize now is the relationship that entire staff has begun to develop with the players at all levels. If they even think about going any other route besides his staff that is willing to stay.....well.....Campbell football was somewhat enjoyable for one season I guess.

The part I found most interesting was where he said he expects most of his assistants to remain at Campbell. Is that an indication that one of them will get the job? Sikora maybe?

You are absolutely wrong regarding the talent being gone. Campbell will have many lettermen returning next season, including most of the core group that led them to the playoffs this past season. Now take your Crayola crayons and go post somewhere else.

BluePride....I know this was his third year...and I am not sure, but I believe it was a three year deal. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I really wish he was staying. He has been doing it for a very long time now. Kids love him. They love the staff as well. If I am looking at head coaches.....Coach Sikora.

Are there other great coaches out there...sure. Do they know the core of this team like this staff does....Not Even Close. You want these kids to stay....well then make the right decision. That is what I would tell the Board right now.

Keep in mind that anything is possible with the BOE. I hope that Coach Sikora gets the head coaching job. But one name from the past may well be considered if he chooses to apply.

In the paper he said he would stay with Campbell until they turned the program around and he didnt expect it to be this fast. Me personally I think he has a plan on his next coaching venture and it made it a little easier to pass it off to Sikora with all the coaches staying on. They still have to open it up within the District but I would imagine the next hc will be Sikora all the coaches staying on. But who knows!!!!

Coach Sikora was also tabbed by the Hubbard faithful to suceed Bayuk following his departure there at Hubbard. Now Hubbard does some goofy stuff when it comes to hiring coaches, administration etc, but you still have to wonder what it was specifically that prevented him from getting the nod. I personally think he should fit well there, hell I thought he was the right choice at Hubbard.

Is the BOE and the administration seem to be on the same page or is it even known?

I'm sorry to see him go just when the program was beginning to turn around, but it sounds as if he had personal reasons for leaving which should remain his business.

At least the next coach has something to build on.

I'm agree. He was good for the program, had it going in the right direction but we don't know what is gong on behind the scenes. It's possible someone has put an offer out to him that simple can't refuse.

I dont think so. If he was taking a new job, his staff would be going with him. He specifically said he believes they will stay at Campbell. I could see him still around the Devils program in an assistant or advisory role.

BigDean.....in all honesty, I know who you are talking about and I have to tell you.....if he got it that is fine....but I can tell you right now that these kids will not welcome anybody else with open arms. Get ready for rebuilding all over again. If Coach Sikora gets it...and the rest of the staff stays...you may see the Devils pick up right where they left off. In my opinion, bad bad decision if they bring anyone else in...and I mean ANYONE else.
