From the Reds’ Rob Butcher:
CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Reds President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty today announced the acquisition of RHP Todd Redmond from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for IF Paul Janish.
“Redmond will provide us with starting pitching depth in the minor leagues,” Jocketty said of the 6-3, 215-pounder. “It’s also a great opportunity for Paul to get back to the Major Leagues.”
At Class AAA Gwinnett this season, Redmond, 27, is 6-6 with a 3.58 ERA and 1 shutout in 18 appearances, all starts. In 199 career minor league appearances, including 193 starts, he is 69-56 with a 3.57 ERA, 4 complete games and 3 shutouts.
Redmond will be assigned to Class AAA Louisville.
Janish, 29, has spent the season at Louisville, where in 49 games he hit .237. From 2008-2011 he appeared in 324 games for the Reds.

Leake's ERA for the game will be either 1.5, 3.0, or 4.5, depending how the bull-pen does with inherited runners. Dusty left him in one batter too long!

Such a good bunt by Furcal, I think if Votto he comes up with it, his best play was at home, and he probably doesn't even get the out there.

The next play was very similar to the Cozart play last night when he finally made the right decision, but BP wasn't on 2B. This time Meso was at home and the play was made to cut down the lead run at home.

Bull-pen has a zero ERA in the game, but one inherited runners scored, the one on 3rd with no out, which is no shame, but Dusty shouldn't have put them in that difficult situation.

Reds 7th is a clone of last nights 8th so far, as Browning gets his two lefties, but gives up a hit to BP in between. Today though Ludwick makes an out vs. the righty to end the inning, rather than getting an RBI like he did last night!

Big spot for Ondrusek to put up a zero in the 8th.

Poor, poor, poor by Ondrusek! Gets the first batter, then walks two.

Ump misses the call on the first pitch to Schumaker, then Meso misses the the mext pitch for a passed ball, and Scumaker walks to load them, and a move by Dusty as Logan fails to get thru the 8th! Bray in to try to get the last out. I smell a BB!

I was wrong, good job by bray to get the righty PH by going 0-2 then a pop foul out on the 3rd pitch. Not even one ball.

You shut your mouth. Should never have had him try to bunt (because he sucks at it). Wasted 2 strikes when he was 3/7 off the guy.
