Are you thinking Blacklick Estates near Brice? Because the Blacklick in Jefferson Township is pretty nice.

Yeah, there's only 26 houses priced over $500k for sale there right now. Pretty shitty. :laugh:hoops23;1222592 wrote:No it's not.

Without knowing your salary dlazz, 700 seems pretty damn cheap considering where I live.

It all sounds expensive to me since I live in a shitty campus area apartment now.like_that;1222606 wrote:Without knowing your salary dlazz, 700 seems pretty damn cheap considering where I live.

As long as your rent is 1/4th your monthly take home, you'll be fine.dlazz;1222609 wrote:It all sounds expensive to me since I live in a shitty campus area apartment now.

I love in blacklick as well. It's a pretty nice area but does have a couple neighborhoods that I wouldn't want to have to put up with the neighbors. Dlazz check out The ridge at Taylor station. They are old but the are safe and their one bedrooms are pretty big for only like 350-400$ a month. I almost loved there when I first graduated but we rented a town home in worthington.

At the 25% of your income rule, I'd be flirting with it around $700 a month.like_that;1222628 wrote:How much are you making?

I'll say you make 2K a month... You could still make 700 work. Get rid of cable TV and just use the internet for everything (if you haven't done so already)dlazz;1222634 wrote:At the 25% of your income rule, I'd be flirting with it around $700 a month.
Get rid of other things that aren't needed, for example, a landline phone, lower cell phone bill, stop eating out, etc...
You could live comfortably on 2K a month in a $700 place... Just have to manage your money.

I already do most of that stuff. Cell phone is paid for, but I still have my car payment. Also, I live in fast food (works for me -- i eat once or twice a day)hoops23;1222638 wrote:I'll say you make 2K a month... You could still make 700 work. My friend's sister has a house in Blacklick.....currently on the market. That area is being taken over and going down the shitter.
Gahanna is ok, but I'd stay far away from directly East of Cbus.

It sounds like you should live in a cheaper place and rough it for a few more years to save money. Rent a room or commute.dlazz;1222640 wrote:I already do most of that stuff. Looks wise it's fine. It's just being overrun by a lower class of people. It is what it is.
I've spent a lot of time there when living in Columbus, the houses are beautiful and at the time it was nice. I haven't been there in a while, but from everything I've heard....East of Cbus...stay away.

Yes, since most of the bad parts are technically Columbus (taxes, police, utilities, etc). The Jefferson Township area (most of Blacklick) is just fine.like_that;1222652 wrote:LOL still going to defend the area LJ? That's three people who have said it is a shit hole.
