I'm shocked no one said this one but Detroit! I-75 in Michigan feels like it's going to eat your tires for breakfast and once you get into the Detroit area the traffic is awful during the week. Plus Detroit is so crappy outside of the Downtown area it just isn't pleasant to drive through the slums

Agreed. The berm is a lane during rush hour. Kind of important to know if your visiting there on business and driving!

Honduras. Scariest mountain roads and most idiotic drivers in the world.

Locally, I-71 beween Columbus and Mansfield. Maybe it's just because I made that drive everyday for 16 years, but I hate that drive.

In the US it's Houston. The difference between LA and Houston is that in Houston you are in bumper to bumper, door to door traffic jams just like in LA, but in Houston you are moving 80 mph.

This depends on the time of day.
Boston, NY, Washington DC, Pittsburg, LA, Dallas, Huston, Detroit and Chicago early morning and 4:00 all are a pain in the ass traffic jams. However the worst is Chicago why: Because it is unforgiving if you get off at the wrong exit or stuck in the wrong lane having to get off at the next exit there is no simple way to get back. If you are in the wrong lane miss your next route lane you have to go miles to correct your problem&#8230; Chicago is unforgiving if you make a wrong turn on the expressway you just added 30 minute plus to your drive time. This is true in just general traffic conditions.</SPAN>

Note Chicago: you can miss all those little toll stops leading into Chicago by going Route 94 into Chicago </SPAN>

Downtown Chicago...or just Chicago period. I hate driving here. It's easy to navigate, however there are so many frickin' drivers that it's a pain in the ass.

1-71 from Columbus to Cincinnati. Most boring drive ever. I refuse to take 1-71 to Cincy. I'll take 70 to Dayton, and then 75 to Cincy. At least the drive gets broken up.

I get a chuckle out of the "boring drive" comments in Ohio. I travel I-71 from Cincy to Columbus regularly, not bad. I also do St. Rt. 23 from Columbus to Toledo, not bad either.

If there is a boring drive, it's in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Pick any and every road just about and it's a boring drive. At least in Ohio you have places to stop at, like little towns or random shopping centers...in those places, you have absolutely nothing. An hour's drive in Ohio can get you somewhere, no matter where you are. An hour's drive there and you are still in the middle of nowhere with nothing around.

Seems like a waste of gas. I've made the Cincy to Columbus trip a lot and it's such a quick, easy drive. You can fly on that road and it only takes about an hour and 20 minutes or so.

^I usually stop and visit friends in Dayton (I went to Wright State). Or stop at Ikea along 75. The only time I take 71 to Cincy is if I need to stop at the outlets in Jeffersonville first.

I'd also like to add that the drive from Indianapolis to Chicago is pretty frickin' boring too.

I lived outside of DC for quite a while. I agree the congestion is bad...especially in NoVa but the drivers combined with congestion in Boston is just silly.

From Cancun to the Riviera Maya was the worst road I was ever on. Scary traffic and slums galore. I thought I was either going to die from a head on collision, or die if we broke down from being robbed.

My least favorite is Atlanta, there seem to always be traffic there. Chicago does not bother me, I lived there for a year and just got used to it. Like someone else previously mentioned you can avoid the tolls in Chicago by taking I-94. I never tried it but a friend of mine claimed you could use Necco Wafers for coins in the automatic (unmanned) toll booths.

Least favorite city to drive in is Pittsburgh, it can just get confusing.

Least favorite drive in Ohio is 77 between Marietta and Cambridge or 90 from Cleveland to Erie.

I dont get the hatred for the PA Turnpike, I like it. I travel from Zanesville to Philly about once every two months or atleast Breezewood. Its not all that bad. Pittsburgh just sucks at the tunnels. 77 from Marietta to Cambridge isnt half as bad as 75 from Findlay to Toledo.

Hopefully Salto posts about his mistake of being in the wrong lane going through Gary, Indiana and getting off the exit in a not so nice area.

White guys with a military look (no hair) do not belong in Gary, especially around sun set.

To add- Oklahoma City to Flagstaff (approx 13 hours) is extremely boring.

One time there was an accident that cause them to close the turnpike for 60 miles. Ended up having to go 70 then up 95.

Anytime in Jacksonville during rush hour, morning, lunch, and early evening. Anytime in Orlando usually.

The Blueridge Parkway, I know its beautiful but that is the problem if I am driving I can't enjoy the view without worrying of driving over a mountain side :)!

lol, my mom made my dad exit off the Blueridge when they went to visit Asheville a few years back. Couldn't handle the view

We travel up near Asheville (Brevard area) quiet frequently, heading back up next weekend, and there are some scary curves and cliffs there for sure!

I'll second Atlanta. Coming from the north on I-85 it goes from 2 lanes to 9 outta nowhere and somehow all 9 immediately become congested. I've never missed my exit, just stressful. Another for the sheer reason it makes it difficult to use my cruise control is 77 in West Virginia. Too many twists and turns for me. I'd rather have straight and boring on cruise the whole trip than having to go through that.
