We have Nick Hagadone and his 6+ era and broken hand to dangle out there as trade bait. He was a top 5 prospect coming into this season I believe.

^^^The owner could have stepped up a bit to get Josh Willingham.

This was a punch in the gut going into the all-star break. I know Perez can't save them all, but c'mon...3 frickin' runs? I was more than a little disappointed that the coach didn't go out there earlier and settle him down...especially when the game was tied.

Today's painful loss gave the Tribe and me a 7-4 record for the last 3 series. I will start the next series thread and keep going until we lose a series.

The irony here is that our two representatives to the All Star game, Perez and Cabrera, are directly responsible for this loss. Unfuckingbelievable.

It is a sad state of affairs that our minor league system is so devoid of prospects considering the amount of guys we've traded away over the past 5 years. We should be overflowing with prospects, and instead are completely barren.
Normally I hate your QQ posts, but I agree with this. I have never seen the Indians farm system so depleted since I have been watching the Tribe. Most of the guys on the roster now are pretty young, however. Hopefully they can hold up, and continue to develop while the farm system is being replenished.

The farm system was terribly depleted before our first rebuild and after John Hart left.

When do you consider our first rebuild and good point it was pretty depleted. At least we had nearly a decade of winning baseball before it was depleted though.

First rebuild was in 2002 after Charlie Manuel was fired midseason.

They made several moves to replenish a terribly weak farm system, including the Colon deal and the Ryan Drese deal.

That's why I asked when you consider the first rebuild, i was a little confused. Isn't the first rebuild (2002) after John Hart left?

Yeah, I should have mentioned John Hart leaving first to bring more clarity to my statement and to keep it accurate within the timeline.. The farm system was depleted after John Hart left... He was notorious for trading prospects for ML proven talent. I was just saying that the farm system was depleted after he left and before our first rebuild. Shapiro actually restocked the farm system pretty quickly following 2002.

Took just 3 or 4 seasons to get some legit prospects back into our system and develop them into ML ready players.

2004 was a good year offensively but our pitching, mainly the bullpen, was horrible. 2005 almost finished nicely and 2006 saw our bullpen suck ass again.

I should have mentioned John Hart leaving first to bring more clarity to my statement and to keep it accurate within the timeline.

Carlos Quentin?.... .268 7 HRs and 17 RBI's. ...are those stats a misprint? uh, WHY? would the Tribe be interested enough to get into a bidding war?
