Time for one of my stupid questions as I should know the difference between the two, but don't. So... what exactly is a threshold run and what is a tempo run?

Thanks ccrunner! So a tempo run is really just a run at a predetermined pace, while a threshold run is running at 85% of your max. Max being race pace or max being your max on a 300 meter run?

Using the term "tempo" is as useless as using the term "threshold." What type of threshold?(anaerobic, aerobic, lactate...?) There needs to be something attached to both and the runners need to know what type of pace they should run regardless of the term used.

In my opinion they are generally the same thing, just different words.
