Spain got that ass beat. Just like they will if they meet when it counts. Melo and LeBron both in beast mode.

Should we have an Olympics thread? USA hoops threads?

I won't complain about nba refs as much. Fiba refs are 100x worse.

Suns, Wolves, Hornets working on a 3 team deal

Suns get Wesley Johnson and a 1st from Minny
Hornets get Hakim Warrick and Robin Lopez

Yet to see a tweet on who Minny would receive. Knowing Kahn he probably forgot to ask for something in return.

In other news, Chicago isn't going to match Asik so he's headed to Houston. Interesting to see how this changes the Dwight Howard trade talk. And man did Houston waste a lot of money on two guys who are average/slightly above average in Asik and Lin.

Edit: Minny gets Brad Miller, Jerome Dyson and picks

Asik and Lin are both really young...so there is some potential there. A lot more teams have F'd up Free Agency a lot worse than the Rockets have.

Lebron's gmail. Sterns email to LeBron brought the lulz.

Those are actually all pretty solid. I lol'd at the Stephen Jackson one.

Also at Tim Duncan organizing sock drawer. Didn't see that at first.

Nah that's true. And the name of the RFA game is to overspend if you don't want their current team to match. I guess I can never really get behind doing that. With Lin it's more the structure of his deal, that 3rd year is going to be a cap eater. Especially if he doesn't live up to his previous hype.

I like the "how do you spell sheshefski" and the e-mails from Gasol and Lin

Nothing special but the Lakers have re-signed Jordan Hill.

Lakers, Magic, Sixers and Nuggets are supposedly in talks for a 4 team D Howard deal.

Lakers would give Bynum to Philly. Pau to Orlando. They would get Howard and Harrington.

Iggy to Denver. Aflalo to Orlando also.

Thats a blockbuster for sure. Not sure giving up Pau and Bynum is worth Dwight. Your window of winning (I know the Lakers are like the Yankees and reload) gets a lot smaller. I dont think Dwight can get it done alone, and Kobe only has a few more runs in him.

The loss of Pau would be devastating.

Yeah, I think you might be better off keeping both big men than getting Dwight. This year, Dwight would be better, maybe even next. But going forward, no way, imo.

I don't get that deal for orlando. How does it help a rebuild? Trade Dwight for pau, then pau for worse prospects then you could have got for Dwight?

I'd keep Gasol and Bynum if I was LA.

Supposedly the trade is now imminent. But I've also seen that there are other scenarios where LA keeps Pau.

It's a bad trade for the Magic, they should have pulled the trigger when they had the chance

Orlando wasted better deals. There's gotta be draft picks in this deal too.
