My friend just took a picture of this on the side of his house up here on the border of north Akron and Cuyahoga Falls. It was about the size of an adult man's fist.
Anyone know what it is?

He killed it, as he kinda freaked out, but I thought he should catch it and give it to the U of Akron if they have an Entomology department.Ironman92;1210768 wrote:That's the size of an adult man's fist....nice. Throw some Air Jordans on it a have people pay to see it.

I would have smashed that mofo with a brick. This is America we kill what we don't understand. And I'd you don't subscribe to that theory...GTFO.

Yes it is snowing in the A K Rowdy tonight. It was nearly 85 degrees there today, but it is snowing now.
Do you wear a helmet all day?

He should have taken a vid of him trying to psyche himself up and touching the beetle's back with his finger.

I'll wait for LJ to tell us what it is. I think he has a pHD in entomology from Brown.

I don't know if I would kill it, but first off I would freak the fuck out then probably catch it.
I think hoops is right. Definitely looks the same. Native to the southwest US and Mexico, I'd say it's a long way from home.

It was already outside. It was on the side of the house, as per the first post. I still would have caught it and given it to the local university.

It's the side of the house.
The bug started tearing the roof off.

Hey, he doesn't understand you, and he's American. Ergo, he should now kill you.

It's wider than that. A friend of mine who actually is an Entomologist finally got back to me and said it's some kind of long-horned beetle. He said "something californicus" I think.
