And the cards have found their offense again it seems. So with a 10 game west coast road trip coming up, this isn't the best time to give away games. Especially to bad teams.

Chapman has an 11.something ERA since June 7th. Awesome.

Scotty Rolen sucks. He doesn't deserve to be on the field

Frazier ran the bases perfectly! The only thing bad that was going to happen bad on the pick-off throw would have been bad for the Twins.

Wasn't a fan of Chapman being moved to closer because I felt like it would hurt his development (i.e. falling in love with his fastball and seeing how hard he can throw, & not throwing breaking balls and off speed stuff

To justify swinging at the first pitch you need to average at least getting 4 hits out of each 10 first pitch swings! And that is not 4 hits out of first pitch swings that you put in play, it's fouls and swings and misses too. I wonder how the Reds hitters stack up against the rest of MLB in that, and also in the percent of first pitches they swing at.Midstate01;1210420 wrote:Heisey at bat kills the reds.

This stretch up to the all star game is huge. They can't find themselves back at .500. But it's very possible.

Even if he throws 101 consistently, the lack of movement on the fast ball, and the hitters not having to worry about another pitch will doom him!Midstate01;1210406 wrote:He's getting hit hard at 96. Guys can hit 96. Especially in a 3-1 count. He needs to be at 98-100 and mixing in the slider. Or else this is going to be the norm.
Another late inning loss hurts. IF they lose.

What closers would you trade Chapman for right now straight up?Jughead;1210401 wrote:That's 3 times this month...time to find a new closer.
How about Ondrusek being given a shot?

Assuming Stubbs goes back in CF tomorrow night and Rolen is at 3B, who should be in LF then, and who will Dusty put there?

Frazier should be. It will be Luddy most likely.

I see Stubbs is a solid 0-6 with a k in Dayton.

If Stubbs is activated, who will leave the 25 man roster? If it is Harris, will he clear waivers and accept an assignment to AAA, and if so will they leave the 40 man roster under-stocked at 39?

Verlander gets a complete game 3-2 win and the Reds are in first alone for at least another day. Chances becoming less and less that the Reds are in first place at the all-star break.

It's just Dustyball. Gomes, Heisey, Bruce, Stubbs, Phillips, Ludwick....the biggest problem is not recognizing if it's "their" pitch.....but I would never, ever throw any of those guys a first pitch strike.
