Votto needs to get out of this slump, he's all the way down to .360!! He'll have 3 hits tonight and the Reds win 6-5.

He can't have 3 hits tonight as the Reds play during the day.

Unless of course you think the Reds are going to play 30 innings of tied baseball, taking us into the night, where you think he'll gather 3 hits from nightfall on...

–Cueto relished the chance to snap the season-high four-game losing streak. “The first thing this morning when I woke up, I felt really strong,” he said. “My first thought was: I’ve got to win. I’ve got to do it for my teammates.”–Cueto has started seven times this year after a Reds loss. He is 5-0 and the team is 7-0. “That’s what ace do,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “That’s what All-Stars do. That’s what potential Cy Young Award winners do. They stop bad streaks and create good ones.”
–Cueto raised his record to 9-3 and lowered his ERA to 2.21. The nine wins equalled his total from last year. Cueto struck out nine and walked one. Over his last three starts, he has gone 23 innings and allowed two runs on 15 hits. He’s walked two and struck out 24.
–Cueto struck the final three batters he faced Saturday. After pitching at 92, 93 mph all day, he hit 95, 96, 95 on his last three pitches. “I wanted to finish strong,” Cueto said.
–Cueto drove in a pair of runs in the game with a sacrifice and groundout. “That was great by Johnny,” Baker said. “When we first got him, he couldn’t spell hit. He works it. He works at his total game.”

I no longer apologize. After the game I'm going to kidnap Votto and we are going to find a softball league to join for the night where he will get 3 hits. Eat shit assholes!!!!!!!

As far as the game goes, big two out hit by Valdez to knock in Mesoraco from 3rd, where he was with one out after the bunt by Leake, setting up Heisey to get the one out RBI which he failed to do, and then Valdez "picks him up"!

Leake has 3 innings in the book on 35 pitches and 10 batters faced. Let's see how he does the 2nd time thru, and then hopefully the critical 3rd time thru. Hopefully the Reds' lead will be more than 1-0 by then.

Will Leake be in the game long enough to go 3 for 3 as far as successful plate appearances? His first two successes led to no runs, unless you count it would have been easier for Meso to score from 3rd instead of 2nd on Valdez' two out hit.

I think most of the Reds' hitters, take away Leake and Valdez, are trying to do too much in their at bats, something that Leake and Arroyo have to rely on happening by the opponents for themselves to be successful when they are on the mound.

Even if there is a pitch-out when the runner is trying to steal 2nd, why don't the batters swing at it to keep the catcher from moving forward toward 2B before the pitch gets to them to very much have a better shot at the throw out? If the twins do that, I think Revere is safe there.

Reds had a better chance to score a run if Bruce would have tried for a two out double on his hit to RF, than trying to score from first on the double by Ludwick down the LF line. Both Twins outfielders played both of those hits very well! That relay throw was in the dirt, and an in between hop, but an assist rather than an error!
