No way. Harden would have turned it over first!

Nice offense.

Did Johnny Damon reach base more than all the Reds combined? Lol

Home plate guy sucked....guy at second is one of those "look at me...I'm in the big leagues and I'm the MAN!"....how Dusty does not get tossed on that call is beyond me...I'd put on a 5 minute spectacle.

As for the bogus error....it was the 3rd out so it should be to no one, but ball in the dirt is the thrower's fault everytime. Rick Ankiel could throw a 375 foot ball from dead centerfield to home and catcher tries to short hop a throw that was 1 foot off from 375 and if it gets by and someone advanced...error on Ankiel.

Votto had to throw it about 55 feet and Cozart had to scoop it clean. My son is 8 and he could make the throw in the air to 2nd from there 4/5 times....but my son would've only scooped that ball 1/4 times I'd guess. Votto throws that good 98/100 times and Cozart catches it clean with a scoop probably about the same.

The umpire needs reprimanded....but there is no accountability.

I have no problem with it....sometimes you get your ass kicked. Not as harmful losing 1/54 of your season....in football it's far more important....(duh, I know)....just doesn't bother me much when the Reds lose....and kinda expecting the lowly Twins to beat us a little.

But no, there are no dead balls in baseball
You and your bud are clueless. Yes time was called. My example showed a situation where time is not called...which happens a lot in baseball Then what? I can't help you any further.

Let's try another example....a no hitter is allowed because a shot down the third base line is ruled foul. On replay, the ball clearly hit the chalk after crossing the bag. How you gonna over rule that? Or should I say, overrule? What if the bases had been loaded and the same scenario played out?

This is not a hard concept to understand, really. And it's been discussed ad nasuseum that baseball cannot enforce "challenges" for these very reasons. Home run calls do not fit in the realm of typical baseball action...so they allow them to be reviewed.

Hope that helps.

As for throws in the dirt...yes...the errors go to the thrower. That rule should be changed. A true short hop should be caught in major league baseball. If an infielder bobbles a ground ball short hop, is he not tagged with an error? Not talking about an in between hop which is 10 times tougher to catch, but a short hop is flat out easy. Time to change the scoring rule. It's almost as dumb as the "you can't assume a double play" nonsense. Why can't you? Dumb.
