I was just thinking that...

There is NO WAY you can give a player an error when it was clearly a shit call.

Then again, I don't know why Joey didn't just turn and jog to the bag.

They need to inform the league office that they are playing the rest of the game under protest.

Not that that will do anything.

We were gonna lose regardless. But that call was complete shit.

In the old days, you had to say that before the next pitch. Not sure how that works these days.

I don't disagree, but 5-0 is a hell of a lot more doable than 8-0.

Unfortunately the error will stand. But in my view, the ss should get the errorr, not Votto. Come on, the throw was not that bad.

It's too bad that a play like that can't be reviewed. But in baseball, you can't really review something like that because there are no dead balls like other sports.

Even 8 won't win it now, after 3 unearned runs off Simon after one of the worst calls I've ever seen an ump make that prolongs the Indians 7th. Santana was obviously a force out at 2nd both before Cozart adjusted the position of the ball in his glove and after. Atrocious call! Its the same ump that wouldn't call any strikes until the Reds' 9th on Monday when they needed one to tie, then he called ones he hadn't been calling all night, plus some that were out of the zone!

False.

Timeout was called right after the play. That is a dead ball. They do it for home runs. They could do it for much, much more.

That is an embarrassment to the umpiring profession.

Just like you shouldn't be able to collar a hitter with a K and 0/1 on a called strike 3 that is obviously 10" outside!

Playing a games under protest can't be filed on a judgement call...no matter how bad the judgement. Misinterpretation of the rules was grounds for a protest.

In any event, there's no doubt that the tribe is much better than the Peglegs. Last weekend was GOAT freak of nature in the annals of baseball.:D

It's not false. No whistle blew. What if a runner was on second and tried to score on that play? The throw to the plate is late and a merry go round ensues?

You do not understand the point I'm trying to make.

A throw in the dirt, or a pitch in the dirt always goes against the thrower, but yet fielders of bouncing balls regularly get errors on hit balls in the dirt that are more difficult than a lot of the throws in the dirt that go against the thrower!

Time was called. Baker came out. Thus a time out had to have been issued.
