They actually announced yesterday that Windows Phone 8 would actually be using the same kernal as Windows 8 and Windows RT. Which means it should be a lot easier to get your programs going across the whole ecosystem which should be pretty appealing for developers.

I'm thinking that the next Xbox might even be similar in that regard. And if you can transfer say 90% or so of code between their phones, Windows 8, Windows RT, and the next Xbox (last one is my speculation only but I think it makes sense) then they're going to have an incredibly compelling group of devices and operating systems for developers to program for.

Did they say that? And it having a USB port I don't see why you couldn't use one of the dongle things from Verizon/Att/whoever.

Didn't see a whole lot of sourcing there other than the usual "analyst" guys so it may still have it and also as I said, it uses Windows and has a USB port, you can use one of the USB sticks if you need to connect to a network and it doesn't have a mobile data radio built in.

You don't even need a USB port for that. But it's still a disadvantage to have carry anything extra to do it if the competition has it built in. Hopefully it does come with it.
