Coming from a current college student, I think it's amazing how much ground EDM (electronic dance music) has gained. My first couple years, all you would hear at parties and bars/clubs would be rap and top 40 stuff. Over the last year EDM seems to be more popular and you will hear more of that. It's definitely becoming the new music of the young generation.

Thank you internet and social media! I remember when I first got into trance (late 1999s). It was a task to find new DJs and tunes. I remember having to browse the overprice "imported" section of Sam Goody or Tower to find Tiesto's latest ISOS mix. Those were the days.
I didn't realize this many posters were into it. I like it all, but progressive and tech house are my favs. I need to get a mix recorded. I've been slacking bad.

I also like trance, house, progressive. And I also agree that EDM has not even hit the ceiling yet in terms of popularity. It's always been big in Europe, but these last two years its starting to come on in the US.
