They aren't going to release them.
But IMO, it's a little late for their image.

Terrible design, but no harm no foul.
The whole racism claim, idiotic.

I just wanted to know the thought process of designing these. Why?

The concept actually came from a toy, but of course it has to be made into racism. In a world where everyone claims they want a end to racism, making this a racist situation does nothing to advance that claim.

Blacks and Roman gladiators should be outraged.
Actually the first thing I thought of when I saw these was that they were so the black kids couldn't steal them off your feet after they hit you with the brick.

lol what would people like Sharpton and Jackson do if they actually thought they had equal rights? These idiot pieces of shit claim to fight against racism but they'd be out of a job if they ever won.se-alum;1204368 wrote:The concept actually came from a toy, but of course it has to be made into racism. Honestly - how many black reporters and activists would be lost if one day they woke up and no one harbored any racist thoughts? They day there isn't money to be made in racism is the day it goes away.

I hope you're talking about during WWII. Because if you're talking about Egypt that simply never happened.Raw Dawgin' it;1203116 wrote:Jews were the pioneers of slavery.

Here is the toy these shoes, designed by Jeremy Scott, were based on:

Here are the other shoes in his collection:

He has also done collections for Adidas in the past and it's usually more of the same. Some that look good and some that look bad, but all of them have a fun, whimsical theme to them. I don't believe he was trying to make a "racist, slave shoe" but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Either way. they are ugly. So it's probably good they aren't being produced.

I'm sure it wasn't intended to be a "slave shoe", but when he's pitching it to management, how does no one bring this up? Could this have been a case of being too politically correct and no one was willing to say how this could be perceived?

I'm not even sure why it should be perceived this way. My first thought, in total and complete honesty, was prisoner or convict. My thought? "Yeah, there's not enough of THAT in the NBA already."gut;1204934 wrote:I'm sure it wasn't intended to be a "slave shoe", but when he's pitching it to management, how does no one bring this up? Maybe. Personally I'd find it inexcusable for people in the business of marketing and selling a product to miss this.O-Trap;1204955 wrote:I'm not even sure why it should be perceived this way. Either way, it does send a poor message. I agree with that, certainly.gut;1204957 wrote:Maybe. Personally I'd find it inexcusable for people in the business of marketing and selling a product to miss this.
