Super Bowl XXVII - Troy Aikman
Super Bowl XXVIII - Troy Aikman
Super Bowl XXIX - Steve Young
Super Bowl XXX - Troy Aikman
Super Bowl XXXI - Brett Favre
Super Bowl XXXII - John Elway
Super Bowl XXXIII - John Elway
Super Bowl XXXIV - Kurt Warner
Super Bowl XXXV - Trent Dilfer
Super Bowl XXXVI - Tom Brady
Super Bowl XXXVII - Brad Johnson
Super Bowl XXXVIII - Tom Brady
Super Bowl XXXIX - Tom Brady
Super Bowl XL - Ben Roethlisberger
Super Bowl XLI - Peyton Manning
Super Bowl XLII - Eli Manning
Super Bowl XLIII - Ben Roethlisberger
Super Bowl XLIV - Drew Brees
Super Bowl XLV - Aaron Rodgers
Super Bowl XLVI- Eli Manning
2 of those were average, at best. The rest speak for themselves.
I don't know the point of this thread, more or less I was just interested to see the last 19 super bowl winners and their QB's and 17/19 had hall of famers and future hall of famers. Find an elite QB, and you win the super bowl.

I'd bet the next name on that list is a repeat.

Won't be big ben. Won't be Brees. Peyton with a new team, highly doubt that works out immediately.Sonofanump;1202879 wrote:I'd bet the next name on that list is a repeat.
Best bet is Eli or Brady.

I would think that 17 of the 19 very well could end up in the HOF.DeyDurkie5;1202781 wrote:Super Bowl XXVII - Troy Aikman

Having a HOF caliber QB doesnt guarentee you a SB win, but if you DONT have one it almost guarentee's you wont win one.

I think Ben, Eli and Rodgers will need to continue to play well to get into the HOF, but the rest of them that I presume you believe will be in the HOF seem legit.

That's kind of the point. When going back to see the winners, I was suprised that basically all of them except 2 were HOFer's or future HOFer's.thavoice;1203305 wrote:I would think that 17 of the 19 very well could end up in the HOF.

What makes Warner one? 32k passing yards is pretty good, but not top 20. 208 TDs, but not in the top 20. Big Ben will pass Warner in yards within the next two years(barring injury).dlazz;1203330 wrote:Rodgers and Warner are. Big Ben I'm torn on.
If Rodgers keeps playing like he is, his stats will be sick. 3/4 seasons he's been over 4000 yards. But he needs more years to be a shoe in.
All I'm saying is, does it take a Super Bowl to be considered a HOF QB in general. Obviously, Marino is an exception. I'm talking in general.

He was a consistent player.pnhasbeen;1203339 wrote:What makes Warner one?
Also, comparing stats is meaningless. People are in the league for varying amounts of years with varying amounts of talent around them.

When it comes to the HOF, I tend to look at total stats less than individual seasons. As in, did you dominate your sport for a period of time and was that period of time long enough to be in the HOF. With Big Ben? No, not yet. With Warner? Yes, and the longevity is right at the low end of HOF for me.pnhasbeen;1203339 wrote:What makes Warner one? 32k passing yards is pretty good, but not top 20. 208 TDs, but not in the top 20. You also have to consider that Warner had Marshall Faulk behind him, so Faulk would take away some of his potential passing yards and TD's.

Exactly why (amongst other reasons) I don't think Hines Ward should even come close to being in the HOF.Laley23;1203358 wrote:When it comes to the HOF, I tend to look at total stats less than individual seasons. WIthouth looking...I think Warner is on the edge....dont think he did it long enough. He MAY fall victim to the eye popping stats QBs put up each year nowadays. On a plus side..he was very likeable so maybe he does get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to longevityLaley23;1203358 wrote:When it comes to the HOF, I tend to look at total stats less than individual seasons. I think Ward should be in. There should be some numbers that make it automatic..like 1000 catches.like_that;1203377 wrote:Exactly why (amongst other reasons) I don't think Hines Ward should even come close to being in the HOF.
but then again........look at Cris Carter.

My thing with Warner is, he had 3 good years to start. And then 3 good years to end. He's definitely a bubble guy and his super bowl win and other appearance is really going to help him.
