I do text and drive. Most of the time I use talk to text or I try to do it when I'm at a light/stop sign.

I only do it using the MotoSpeak application. It basically reads texts to you and allows you to speak your response. Never even have to touch the phone.

Doesnt calling somebody require looking at your phone, just like texting? Unless you use one of those corny ass bluetooths.

I dont text with people in the car out of respect to them.

I use one of those corny ass bluetooths because if I have to talk on the phone while driving, I prefer to be comfortable.

Also, having a corny ass bluetooth device is better than dying in a fiery crash. So there's that.

I never touch my phone while in the car...of course I have a Ford with Sync plus Siri...so I can do all normal functions of a phone with all voice commands.

I can't recall ever texting someone while driving. But I have used GPS in order to hone in on my destination. In the old days we struggled to fold a big ass paper map while driving in order to centralize the location in the palm of your right hand. Trust me far more dangerous.

texting and driving = literally death.

good thing i have the OC, or i would have never realized the only two options for communicating via text message in your car were wearing a goofy ass headset and a fiery death.

I don't, really bugs me. If I really need to answer them I either call or just pull into a parking lot or something. Not that damned difficult.

The only time I've ever done it was when I was in a traffic jam (read: stopped) and texted my wife to let her know I'll be late/is there an alternative route? type conversation. I don't get it - can't you just call people on a hands-free? I also love people that think that their driving isn't affected by their texting/distractions - uh, no it certainly is affected. Having ran on a street full of soccer moms driving mega-SUV's I can tell you no one's judgment isn't affected by said person being on the yapper/texting. I've never had a close call with someone paying attention - I've had contact twice with a vehicle driven by Buffy picking up Dakota from soccer practice looking shocked that she almost hit a pedestrian runner while she's yapping or texting.

I've texted maybe three times since I've owned my phone so the answer is "no." Texting isn't as easy as people think....

Set your cell phone numbers on speed dial and call the person you're talking to. It's faster, more direct, and certainly more personal.

People who text while driving are idiots and a danger to themselves and everyone else.
