It's a figure of speech.

He "signed up", by default, to follow the existing laws when he agreed to live in the state of Texas. I don't think his actions will qualify as justifiable homicide.

Until all the facts are in, it's impossible to form a judgment about the propriety of said action or inaction. But I recommend that he hire a local attorney to represent him. I shall not otherwise opine on this case.

I would never argue against that, but this case likely wont qualify as "protecting" his child. He murdered him in anger after the molestation was over. His only hope will be some sort of temporary insanity plea.

It's a shitty thing that happened to the girl and a fathers worst nightmare. I would have responded the exact same way. I have two young daughters and if any fucker got near them he should pray the cops get to him before I would.

I believe that Texas is a "stand your ground state." I would tell a jury that I was protecting my child, and that She was being threatened by the perv breathing in the same world as her.

You would be wrong again.

Harmon said the resident of the home caught the Gonzales man attempting to molest his daughter and attempted to stop him. In the process, Harmon said, the resident physically struck the Gonzales man in the head several times, killing him.

I'd do the same thing.

And IF charges do come of this, I hope the guy's lawyer gets him at least one parent on the jury. A good lawyer gets one dad on that jury, and the guy walks.

If he did it by the law then I'm all for him walking. In fact, I'm hoping for it. What I'm against is people taking the law into their own hands and killing someone because they think that person deserved it.

Now, if it comes out in the autopsy that they guy had 25 blows to the head then there's no way it was justified and a reasonable jury will see that. Again, no matter what crime he was committing, a citizen is not allowed to play judge/jury/hangman and end a life. That's why we have the process of law that exists.

So if someone is attempting to rape your 4 year old daughter and you are trying to get this monster off of her and kill him in the process that isn't justified? The guy was on his daughter! What would you do in this situation? Like I said before though you're wrong.

Seems more like you just go against what everyone else says in most threads to be a douche. Just an observation.

I applaud this man. I have a friend who was molested as a child and still hasn't recovered mentally from the ordeal. That man had no place in society. I don't have children, but if I caught a man molesting one of my nieces he wouldn't live to regret it.

Your (and many others here) problem is you think your opinion should be the rule. Well, it's not. There has to be civilized law, no matter how awful the crime.

This is just like the Roger Huerta case. Almost everyone here was all for beating down the guy who hit a girl. Except that's not how our legal system works. If it was, we may as well be living in Russia or some third-world country where "mob rules" apply; where they murder people in the street for the crimes they committ.

Again, I'm for applying the law in this case; whatever that may be. I'm not versed on Texas law.

That may be the case, but I would be disappointed in any jury that would send a man to jail for killing a man that he caught molesting his child. No matter how brutally he killed him. One blow to the head or 25 blows to the head.

It depends on if I killed him in the process or if I stopped it then beat him to death in anger, which I very well may do. But if I did that then I would expect to go to jail. If I cracked him once with a bat to get him off her and killed him then I'm likely a free man.

Well in the fine state of Texas bat or blows to the head you walk. Look up the law before making a comment on the situation which is pretty much your opinion while you're complaigning about ours.

Yes, that's it. Im trying to be a douche lol. How about someone might, just might, have a different opinion than the masses. It happened on the graduation/mom cancer thread and it turned out I was 100% correct when the entire OC was against me.

And, it's well within your rights to kill a man for whatever reason you see fit. But, if you break the law while doing so you will go to jail for a long, long time.
